Lionel – Immaculate 4 berth Toyota van from 2017 - single and ready to mingle!

Lionel is a new addition to the family, our first Campervan, fulfilling a long held lifestyle dream of ours to be able to head off into the wilderness whenever we choose, to unwind, explore and adventure, doing all of the things that we love.

We've called our Campervan Lionel after the singer Lionel Ritchie, because he looks smooth and whether you're driving "All night Long" or cruising "Easy like Sunday Morning", we know you're going to have a lot of fun with Lionel, he’s looking forward to saying “hello” but don't get too wild that you end up "Dancing on The Ceiling".........! 🕺😊

This Toyota van conversion was completed in 2022 to a high standard and is ready to hit the road for adventures exploring Scotland and the UK. Scotland in particular is an incredible place to visit with stunning scenery, Lots of outdoor activities, warm friendly natives and unpredictable weather.......! If you like variety, the Scottish weather is sure to provide it but nothing can spoil its charm and beauty, not even the wind and rain.

We are based 10 minutes drive from Edinburgh airport, 20 minutes drive from Edinburg City Centre and 5 minutes from the motorway. The specific van pick up location will be advised during message correspondence. If driving your own vehicle, you will be able to leave it in a quiet street area which has free parking. PLEASE NOTE - We cannot collect from Edinburgh City Centre, Train Station or Edinburgh Airport but we are easily accessible by public transport or Taxi.

The van is a Toyota 'Proace', first registered in 2017 and is in immaculate condition. Toyota engine's are renowned for their reliability and this vehicle, a 1.6 Diesel is very economical on fuel.

Suitable for a maximum of 3 persons (adults). In the case of a family of 4, we would consider the booking, as long as the children are below the age of 12 years old, due to the space available in the van.

• Mattress, duvet and pillows x 2 (in bed linen)

• Cleaning fee £35 (*see further below)

Extra Hire Items for Additional Cost (please enquire about these with the owner):

• Additional duvet / blanket (in bed linen) (£15)
• Additional mattress, duvet and pillows (in bed linen) for the 2nd bed (£25)
• Portable Toilet & Pop up Privacy Tent (£15)
• Camping Chairs x 2 (£10)

Driving Licence

We will rent to drivers aged 25-75 with a full and clean driving licence. Must have held full licence for a minimum of 2 years. Original driving licence must be shown on day of hire. 
A copy of your drivers licence and two further proofs of ID with your current address on it, which matches your drivers licence i.e. Bank statement, Utility bill etc, must be provided before the vehicle can be released.

Insurance:

We are now using GoBoony Insurance which you will be asked to confirm at the point of booking. There is a £1,500 excess security deposit for this insurance, however there is an option at the point of booking to lower the excess. See immediately below.

Security Deposit:

A deposit of £1,500 will be collected by GoBoony and held for the duration of the booking. This is the maximum you can personally be charged per damage to the vehicle (outside of an insurance claim). The payment will be returned in full on return of the vehicle in the same condition as received. OPTIONAL - You can reduce the security deposit to £150 at the point of booking by paying a daily fee of around £14.80 to GoBoony. See below regarding vehicle damage.

Damage:

Any damage to the hire items or equipment inside the van will be charged at the full RRP directly to the person who takes out the hire agreement.

Any damage to the van itself can be handled through the insurance as outlined above, however the deposit covers the first part of the claim, similar to a policy excess.

The condition of the van will be agreed and signed between both parties prior to the hire commencing using a standard rental agreement checklist. Any scratches or damage not identified in the rental agreement will be treated as new and the responsibility will lie with the hirer to cover the cost of the repair (through the hirers insurance) or agreed between both parties to be deducted from the security deposit following the owner providing a quote to get the damage repaired. The hirer is responsible for returning the vehicle in the same condition it was rented out.

*Statement on Cleaning and Return Protocols:

Lionel will have had a good clean inside and out after every rental, so rest assured that he will be in good condition and ready to go when you arrive. The van must be returned in a clean state and re fuelled with a full tank (the same level as given). Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. Please enquire with the owner about pets and we'll review each case individually.

A standard cleaning fee of £35 is mandatory to allow a deep clean of the vehicle inside and out, along with any equipment and bed linen used , prior to our next rental.
