Inverness is the ideal starting point for exploring the North of Scotland, whether you're doing the NC500 or heading down other roads less-travelled.
We're situated about 3 miles from Inverness Airport and we'll happily pick you up and drop you off from the airport for no extra charge. Alternatively, there is off-street parking at our house where you can leave your car.
Our VW T4 Caravelle Campervan offers a more affordable way of having a campervan holiday. Whilst it is over 20 years old, it drives very well, with plenty of power and torque from its 2.5 litre inter-cooled 5 cylinder engine. The gearbox is a 5-speed manual.
It was professionally converted by a company called Murvi when bought new by my friend's father though whilst much of this remains, I've fully insulated and re-trimmed the interior as well as making various upgrades in my 4 years of ownership.
It has (cold) running water, sink, a 3x way fridge (with small freezer compartment), 4x gas burners & grill, dimmable led lighting and all the necessary cookware that 2x people would need for a trip away.
Bed linen, a 7.5tog duvet, an extra blanket and 2x towels are included with no extra charge. A mattress topper is provided to ensure a comfortable nights sleep on the rock and roll bed.
There is mains hook-up capability when on a campsite which (as well as charging the leisure battery), provides 240v power to 2x conventional 3 pin sockets.
Otherwise, a leisure battery provides 12v power to 12v sockets, USB sockets, led lighting and also a Fusion stereo with speakers in the rear tailgate, which provides better sound than one would expect from a 50w amp. This has Bluetooth capability though also has an audio input.
There is a Propex gas heater for chilly nights and 2x roof vents for warm nights, though note the van is not fitted with air-con.
Good quality "black-out" curtains are installed and a full set of thermo mats for the front windows is provided also.
The van comes with roofbars and a lockable roof-box (steps provided), to accommodate things like the 240v hook up cable(s), a fold-up table and 2x chairs, though it's also large enough that bags can be stored in it too, increasing available space in the van.
In addition to the stereo in the rear, the main audio system has been significantly upgraded. The main connection is via an Aux input though a Bluetooth adaptor is connected also.
Conventional safety items are provided: carbon monoxide detector, fire-extinguisher, fire blanket & first aid kit.
Whilst the van is in very good condition for its age, please appreciate that as a 24 year old vehicle, it isn't 100% perfect. This applies to some small areas of the paint and also some small areas of the interior.
"Short-term Motorhome Insurance" can be gained via Adrian Flux. The van is insured via them already which will assist the process. To ensure the best quote, this is best done over the phone though only takes 10 to 15 mins. I will give full guidance for this.
