Silvy – 4 berth Volkswagen campervan from 2016

"Silvy" is our Volkswagen T6 Campervan built by "Camperking" which we have had since its first conversion. It's a cracking vehicle in its own right but also a super camper van. Based on Camperkings Monte Carlo fit out and on a Long wheel base VW chassis it has a bit more room than a normal VW short wheel base. Yet, you can still park in a supermarket car park! We have had a series of ever increasing sized motorhomes and eventually in 2020 remembered why we had started this caper! We wanted freedom to explore and just to go almost anywhere (within reason!). So we sold our 9m motorhome and went back to our roots with "Silvy". She has two leisure batteries and a solar panel which allows off grid camping. We rarely stay on camp sites larger than 5 pitches because you can be completely self sufficient if you select the right options. We have an "air" drive away awning (no poles you pump up the supports) available (see in house rules for price) which allows you to pitch a base camp and go explore. We have a toilet tent as well that we pitch near the back of the van as it can be fitted with a 12v shower that is very effective and powered by a socket at the rear accessed from the barn doors at the back.

The rear seat folds down to form the downstairs double bed. The roof of the van "pops" up and has a separate bed base that can be lowered to ceiling height to form another double bed in the roof. There are touch sensitive LEDS all around the van that work on or off grid as well as USB charging. There is plenty of storage in cupboards and under seats as well as at the back through the Barn doors. The Fridge is powered by the leisure battery or the vehicle electrics with the engine running. There is a small freezer section to keep a small amount of frozen items. There is a grill powered by gas as well as gas burners on the top work surface for boiling a kettle when not on an electric hook up. Plates, cutlery, glasses, mugs and pots and pans etc are all onboard. We will provide an electric hook up cable for sites with hook ups. This allows the two 3 pin plugs to work - they do not work on battery. The sink has a tap but only has cold water. There is an external fill point for the water tank. Both front seats rotate around to face into the cabin.

Silvy will come with her screen cover but there is also a pop top thermal cover available as well if needed.
