Poppy – 1971 Volkswagen T2 early baywindow campervan

For hire is our own family owned early T2 bay-window campervan, She is our pride and joy and is loved by our 2 children who love going on trips with her, and we hope that you can enjoy her too!!!

So be the envy of the festival, campsite or open road with Poppy, the coolest camper around. This Sexy lady is a original Danbury conversion, Poppy boasts a full size double rock and roll bed 'downstairs' but also if you raise the pop up roof she has enough room for you to stand up inside with out the need to crouch down.

She seats 4 people, but she has only 1 large bed, that can sleep 2x grown adults and maybe 1x small child(we have done this with our 6 year old)

She has been updated with disc brakes at the front and slightly lowered for better ride quality along with a set of new shiny wheels, she has also just been fitted with a expensive rebuilt larger 1776cc air-cooled engine from the original standard 1600cc she was born with along with other performance parts so she now runs double the power she originally had from factory so now she drives very well with the additional twin carbs means that, unlike the original engine, she has enough power to get up most hills and pass slower moving vehicle.

If you are looking for a retro campervan that gets plenty of attention where ever you go this might just be for you, but be prepared to be stopped everywhere and asked for photos etc, and petrol stops can take a bit longer as everyone wants to ask you about the van.

​A split charge relay will maintain the battery power level when the vehicle engine is running and the 110amp capacity will power the electrical sockets if you want to bring anything to plug in (12v kettle etc) she has a hook up for those campsites too.

​A fire extinguisher is fitted in the cab for added safety and a first aid kit is supplied, She also has a fire suppression unit fitted in the engine bay for added peace of mind.

​Curtains are fitted on all windows to aid privacy during the hours of darkness and front screen cover blind are also provided.

Driveway Awning Kampa Cross inflatable awning with pump - £25 per hire

Pick up and drop off at Walsall/Wolverhampton train station - £20
But you are more then welcome to leave your own vehicle on our secured driveway with full CCTV, and bollard for extra security with - no extra charge

Additional driver - £20 per driver per day
Camping toilet - £10 per hire

Dogs - we want the whole family to be together on your trip, so no extra charges

Same day late return (subject to availability) - £25

Poppy is a 53 year old lady with most of her original features and as such she drives like one! she hasn't got ABS brakes or power assist steering and she will need a bit of patience, but we will take you on a test drive and show you how everything works prior to the start of your adventure and we’re always at the end of the phone to support you on your journey.
