Meet Gerald!
Gerald is a 2020 VW Transporter T6.1 Highline T32 and is ready to take you on your adventures. He has been well maintained and with 74k miles he is low mileage for his age. Gerald is a 6 speed manual with a tailgate, air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, new LEDS headlights and Apple Car Play.
Gerald has been professionally converted in 2024 with a full scenic pop top roof which sleeps 2 and a Vulcan Slimline Rock and Roll bed with Isofix also sleeping 2 with 3 full seatbelts in the back. A Panda mattress topper for use with the Rock and Roll bed offers a comfortable nights sleep. Sheets are included for both beds but you will need to bring your own pillows and bedding.
The cab features 2 captains chairs with the passenger seat on a swivel base which comes in handy for family dinners and games night.
The cabinetry features plenty of overhead and under worktop storage. Solid oak worktops and fold away table were a lovely addition to the conversion.
When we had the conversion done we decided not to install gas, sink or on board running water as we prefer to cook outside. This also gave us more storage and counter space which has worked well for us. We have a really efficient electric heater which can be used on hook up if needed. As we decided against having a diesel heater in the vehicle this has been a really useful alternative. We have camped in February in a hard frost and woke up hot!
2 portable stoves are in the van, complete with new gas canisters for each trip. Pans,
tableware, kettle, mugs, cutlery and utensils are all packed away in the van ready for you. Levelling blocks, small BBQ/firepit, blankets, 2 small useful rucksacks and essential tool kit with high viz and tow rope all come as part of the rental.
Gerald has electric hook up, it’s important to note that as he doesn’t have solar to recharge the battery (yet). To use the fridge which also has a small freezer compartment, you would need to be on hook up.
A Stitches & Steel canopy, outdoor mat with table and 2 camping chairs are all in the van ready for you. A blackout cover for the windscreen and front windows also packed away. The van has curtains all around.
Gerald is fitted with a tow bar, we have a 3 bike rack available or if you have your own, or a small trailer then this is also an option.
We bought Gerald in 2024 and have had some great trips in him. We have recently had a baby and he has had a very quiet year. He is available for trips in the UK. Unfortunately we are not accepting pets at this time and no smoking in the van at any time.
