Dolly is a great van that has been professionally cared for for over 10 years making sure that every part is in excellent condition and wherever necessary modernised and upgraded to give a great drive and a great holiday.
Starting with the basics of getting around, this van is an original Westfalia built VW T3 and so it is a left hand drive van. It has a modern, powerful petrol engine with power steering, excellent upgraded braking and a reversing camera for ease of parking, manoeuvring etc, so a vehicle suitable for all levels of driver. The actual van is no bigger than a large family car and has a tight turning circle so poses no problems in tight situations, car parks, campsites etc.
Driving Dolly is a very relaxing experience as the front seats are very comfortable and designed for long range driving. They are fitted with arm rests, are very upright and you have excellent 360 degree visibility. The gearbox is manual and has a different layout to a normal gearbox but is easy to get used to and Dolly will cruise at 70 mph without any problems at all.
Where Dolly is exceptional is in the ability to enjoy your location. As soon as you arrive somewhere there is no set up required other than getting out the table and chairs (included). The fridge will be ice cold, the passenger seat rotates to give exceptional interior space and all your cupboards will be full of clothes, food etc so no bags lying around or need moving, everything can be stowed.
The accommodation is two up two down with both beds pulling out. The upstairs bed is a sliding shelf with a mattress that folds out and downstairs the rear seat pulls out very easily to give a nice long bed with a thick foam mattress that is not only very flat but also wide enough to have plenty of wriggle room. To ensure a really good nights sleep Dolly has the most beautiful full set of new curtains that are lined with reflective blackout material, keeping the interior dark and cool, day or night.
Catering in Dolly is on a stainless steel twin gas hob with an adjacent small sink. There is an on-board water tank that supplies fresh water to the tap for washing up, cooking etc. The food cupboards are on hand next to the kitchen block and the fridge has been upgraded to a modern compressor style fridge which will keep your food cool and your drinks icy. The kitchen block also has a very neat fold out draining board.
The interior is well appointed with plenty of interior lighting, a DAB blue tooth stereo, excellent headroom, great ventilation and lots of handy storage compartments. Being a high top camper she is great in all weather conditions with no wind noise and well insulated on those chilly nights in the mountains or out of season. Fitted sheets for both beds are supplied as are a set of cooking pans and lovely tableware.
There is very little that hasn't been thought about and Dolly has completed many happy holidays all over the UK and Europe. Driving times in Dolly are the same as in any car but with all the extra space long journeys feel very manageable. Whether it is a long weekend or a full two weeks trans Europe adventure Dolly is capable of keeping you safe and allowing you to get the most out of your time.
