Loved having a campervan of my own for 10 days. Loved the independence and spontaneous nature of my road trip. Limited storage space, so if you take less you would be ok...think minimalist!! (I've had a caravan before and there is more storage than in camper.) This was an older van, so did feel 'heavy' at times; folding the bed back, and turning the front seats round to face inwards. I am sure there is a knack to doing it, but just try it out first. Goboony made the renting side of it very easy. June 2026

It was the first time in hiring a campervan with Goboony and possibly the last. finding the right vehicle which would fit my holiday plans, after a few messages to the owner when all my queries had been answered. I booked. The owner Frances had said in the ad, I wasn't able to leave my car with them, so arranged Dominic to deliver which very helpful. At handover I was shown how the bed pulled out and in how to open, and the securing straps for the pop top, and all other necessary part of the Campervan all ok. But the Vauxhall Vivaro is an old van. The written description in the ad is misleading and needs of updating. As in the advert photos shown the front passenger swivelled round for extra seating, but are fixed which would have given extra move. The campervan was 20 years old. I feel the owner should have checked the basic maintenance, The van should have been a lot clearer both inside and out. As the first impression wasn’t good, the windscreen had a lot of dirty round marks where section pads had been stuck on the windscreen all over and generally dirty inside and out. no usb port in cab for sat nav plug-in, had to buy a plug in to the lighter port. self-cancelling indicator not working, and the Radio doesn’t work. A friend uses Goboony to hire out their campervan and it’s immaculate and well maintained and I was expecting something of that standard. An operational manual would have been helpful explain how everything works with contact numbers for Goboony breakdown services if there were any problems if not able get a signal in remote areas. Inside. Fridge doesn’t keep food cool sufficiently even when on EHU. Heating inside the van was unusable due to it smelt of exhaust fumes when switched on. The rock n roll bed very stiff to pull out and in. neither me nor my fellow campers could operate it. So, the bed stayed down for the duration of the holiday. Stopping access, the storage cupboards. Outside. Awning rail was pulling away from van, contacted owner about this at the time. Air awning leg had a kink and wouldn’t straighten up making the awning very low, and had no tent/ground pegs to secure had been supplied. (had to buy 3 packs of pegs at the campsite shop, at greatly inflated price). Side screen too large for the awning. Mechanical issues leading to the catastrophic breakdown with black smoke pouring out the exhaust. Which was unfixable at the roadside and the van been towed back home. (at my costs, as I took out the breakdown cover). Inside the engine the air box cover was completely unattached with most of fixing screws missing. Engine oil shown minimum. Turbo hose came loose and disconnected covering the engine in black oil. My Holiday plans brought to a halt, and had to make uncomfortable changes to the holiday plans. I’m now in dispute with the owner for a refund of the 11 day I wasn’t able to use the van June 2026
