Blue Zone – 2-seater Ford Connect campervan from 2009

This small van has all the advantages of a minivan: you can go anywhere, you need little parking space (less than 5 meters long), but it is just slightly taller and longer than a real minivan. This allows you to sit upright and lie down stretched out. Thanks to the large pop-up roof, you can also stand upright.

I personally take long trips with my "Blue Zone"; it is very suitable for stealth camping, but not for too long at a time in the same place, because due to the blue color it does stand out after a few days. With a fan, air conditioning when the engine is running, a compression cooling compartment, and a solar panel for extra power, you can bivouac in a wide range of temperatures. For cold days, there is a safe gas ring heater, and the gas tank is housed in a gas safe (recently inspected).

The kitchenette has everything you need on the go. Please note: no BBQ. However, it does have handy foldable pans, etc., for use on the gas stove. You can use the kitchenette indoors or turn it outwards. The pans are not suitable for use over an open fire.

Storage for clean water. Personally, I use separate containers for fresh drinking water. I use the water from the water tank for cooking and washing.

The bed is available in your choice of 40 cm, 70 cm, and 110 cm. The table can also be used outdoors.

The bus drives smoothly with five gears, both inside and outside the city. It has Euro 5, so you are allowed to enter any city. However, it is intended exclusively for paved roads.
Another advantage is that a ferry crossing or road tolls are relatively low; it counts as a regular car.

Winter camping is perfectly possible, but you do have to pay a surcharge for gas.

Finally, this van also has a composting toilet. No odors, easy to empty, no chemicals.

In short: a lovely van to travel around alone or as a couple.
