Things to do on the Isle of Man

Despite visiting the Isle of Man for the TT, you might have some free time to visit other attractions on this gorgeous island. Here are some ideas for exploring the Isle of Man:

  • Manx Aviation and Military Museum. Open every from the start of TT to the end of September from 10am to 4.30pm, and on weekends for the rest of the year, you’ll find this museum tells the story of the Island and its people at war. There is a particularly moving section on WW1 and dozens of other displays featuring gathered artefacts, memorabilia and more. Admission is free, and the museum runs off volunteers.

  • Head to the beach! The Isle of Man’s shores feature many fantastic beaches, all unique in their own way. Enjoy the beautiful Peel Beach on the west, overlooked by the ancient fortress of Peel Castle. Stroll along the dog-friendly Kirk Michael beach and enjoy the watersports offered there. Or you could head to the capital, Douglas, for a delightful sandy beach with numerous cafes, seafront pubs and hotels to enjoy!

  • Enjoy the varied wildlife of the island, perhaps even with a guided wildlife tour. Birdwatchers will enjoy the west coast, spotting the chough, the Arctic tern and the red kite. Kids will adore the puffin colony near Peel. And on a boat trip you may even spot seals or dolphins!
