BoomTown is an independent 4 day festival with an eclectic mix of creativity taking place on the Matterley Estate near Winchester. Every year since the opening of the BoomTown Fair in 2009, a new chapter in the festival story is started. The story is played out in the wonderful different sets and areas of the Estate, laid out like a real city. Chapter 10 in 2018 ‘The Machine Cannot be Stopped’ saw the original village created by Nickolas Boom become a huge city with all the distractions of the digital world! The festival is great fun with lots of different characters played by hundreds of actors who truly bring the streets to life. All types of music genres you can think of are represented at the festival from ska, to folk, to gypsy, to pirate! As well as live music there is theatre, art and even forest parties.
There are 4 campervan and motorhome fields, East, South, family and The Meadow, with 8 x 5 m pitches. You will need an admission ticket as well as a campervan ticket, which can sell out so make sure you don’t miss out! Hiring a campervan for a a festival is a great way to enjoy the experience with extra comfort and added security during your stay.
