We picked up the land rover from Julia’s family and they walked us through everything we needed to know about the Land Rover, so we felt very safe and excited for our trip. We drove up the north west of Scotland, and the land rover stood us in great stead for the windy roads and the rain that came later. It’s a really special wee van and we absolutely loved our week in it - perfect if you’re wanting a car with bags of character and a safe and reliable drive. Would absolutely recommend Julia and her family to hire from if you’re wanting to explore Scotland in a cosy camper. It’s small enough to navigate the roads but big enough for a comfortable sleep for two! 🌞

This was our first experience of a motorhome holiday. We hired the Moho from James in Penrith as it was on our way from home in the Midlands up to Scotland where we were looking to complete most of the NC500 route. Leading up to the holiday I was in comms with James on a few occasions and he answered all of my questions and that was pretty reassuring. Handover was a smooth affair, the van (Wildax Citroen) was very clean and had everything we needed, James explained things really well and demonstrated everything we needed to know. Being a fellow motorcyclist we hit it off straight away and we departed happy in the knowledge that James was contactable if we needed him. This was just as well because it would transpire that we needed his assistance on a couple if occasions - NOT because of anything wrong with the van though! On the second day driving out of Dunfermiline on a twisty road we hit a major pot hole and lost ALL power from the engine. I managed to coast the van into a farm gate but the back end was sticking out in the road on a bend! James had the situation covered with breakdown assistsnce who turned up reasonably quickly but google had already saved the day! After a quick online search I found that the van had an inertia trip switch fitted that cuts all power in the event of a crash and after a re-set we were able to move. The breakdiwn truck turned up and did a check.over the front wheel and suspension and gave us the all clear. On the second occasion I managed to put the rear nearside wheel into a drainage ditch on the single track Glen Etive road whilst backing into a oassing place. Fortunately the guy I wss letting through was in a 4 wheel dtive Jeep and we got the van out no ptoblem but again James was on hand via the phone to advise us. The van was easy to drive and had all mod cons including heating which was useful on a couple of occasions. We had 7 nights on sites (and took advantage of yheir showers and facilities) and 2 nights off grid which were comfortable enough. All in the van was pretty economical and we did the whole trip of well over a thousand miles on £350 of diesel. We had a great holiday amidst the VERY spectacular scenery of Scotland! Oh and as a tip! Get an EE OR LYCAMOBILE SIM. SO IN CONCLUSION.....If youre looking to hire a reliable 4 berth motor home for a trip at a good price from a very friendly and helpful hirer then James is your go-to guy!

She was well presented and clean and comfortable. We had a great week exploring the Yorkshire Dales in her and look forward to another adventure next year!

We had an amazing experience renting Bessie, the campervan. The van was spacious, functional, and impeccably clean. The layout was fantastic, and the huge bathroom made getting ready a breeze. Debs was incredibly communicative and friendly throughout the entire process. To our surprise, there was a more-than-ample welcome pack waiting for us, including a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy after reaching our destination. The campervan was equipped with everything we could possibly need. We can't recommend it highly enough! Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable, Debs!

Hi, we spent our first visit to Scotland wonderfully. Renting a motor home was a great choice. The chosen car is suitable for two people, perfectly equipped and suitable, even for cooking and also for narrow roads in Scotland. Lynne prepared a friendly welcome for us (milk, butter, toast, prosecco...).We could immediately set off. Everywhere in Scotland is beautiful. We recommend pre-booking autocamps. Very good communication with Ian before and during the trip. Good handover and introduction to the camper van. Ian and Raji are both so friendly and helpful. We had a great time in the camper van and got to experience Isle of Skye and the area around Fort William. It was a perfect and very cosy base all four days both in good and bad weather. We had everything we needed and the camper van was so nicely equipped and furnished. We can really recommend this camper van for exploring Scotland.

Campsites in Wales

There are many nice campsites in Wales. Shell island, for example, is the largest campsite in the UK at over 300 acres and is one of the largest campsites in the whole of Europe. Based in North Wales, the campsite boasts stunning views of the picturesque Welsh countryside, including Snowdonia National Park and Cardigan Bay. Shell Island is popular with those wanting a holiday by the sea but who don’t want to stay in a crowded seaside town with all the usual tourist traps. You can go kayaking in the sea and go fishing in the nearby village of Llanbedr. The family run Erwlon Caravan and Camping Park to the west of the Brecon Beacons is an ideal location to discover magical mid Wales. Sports fans can head to Cardiff for rugby at the Millenium Stadium or international cricket at Sophia Gardens and art connoisseurs can head to Cardiff’s National Museum Wales to explore its world class collection of Impressionist works. Wales also has an impressive coastline with many fabulous beaches in Pembrokeshire and the Gower Peninsula where you can sit back and enjoy the view or partake in some water sports!

Events in Wales

Next to things to do, there are also many fantastic events in Wales that are definitely worth a visit! If you are visiting Wales in April, you might want to check out Cardiff's own RHS Flower Show. Organised by the Royal Horticultural Society, the show is a huge display of hundreds of different species of flowers, and usually brings in people from all over the world. Pembrokeshire Fish Week was ranked first in the top 10 food festivals by the Independent. It has come first in several other similar competitions even winning the Gold Award for the Food Tourism Destination category in the True Taste Food and Drink Awards. Accolades aside, Fish week is a biennial celebration of Pembrokeshire’s world-class seafood, spectacular coastline, gorgeous clean beaches, and fascinating heritage of its maritime history. Every year in a different location there is also the National Eisteddfod of Wales, a celebration of the country’s language and culture, which gives a fascinating insight into this ancient land.
