About The Van-
The van was converted in spring 2020 and has a whole host of features that will make sure you have a great trip.
The van is designed to be a ‘stealth camper’ so that you can park it anywhere without arousing suspicion that people are sleeping inside. From the outside it just looks like an average white van.
The cab is clean and spacious and has a host of features that will make sure you have a comfortable and fun journey.
- Three comfortable seats with space for a child seat (which can be provided upon request)
- air con
- CD player, radio and auxiliary cable (provided) connection.
- 2 usb sockets for phone chargers.
The van is serviced every year and well maintained to ensure it is in good mechanical working order. It is a smooth and comfortable drive.
About the camper conversion-
Sleeping area
Super comfy king size bed with memory foam mattress. During the day you can take the foot end extension out to create more space in the van whilst leaving a large day bed to chill on. It’s so nice to sit on the bed during the day with the doors open, sun shining in, reading a good book.
The bed is the full width of the van.
At the foot of the bed there is a table made to fit a laptop on so you can watch movies in bed.
A duvet and pillows can be provided if you’d prefer not to bring your own.
There are also drinks/book holders at either side of the head end of the bed.
Toddler/Child’s bed
The bench seat turns into a comfy memory foam bed for a child with a removable safety rail to ensure that your child doesn’t fall out of bed in the night.
Bed dimensions 130x 50cm (Our son is 2 and fits in with plenty of spare room. We anticipate he’ll be able to fit in the bed until he’s at least 3).
Co-sleeping is also an option in the large king size bed. We did this until our son was 1 but there is space for a child up to the age of around 7 (155cm if two adults are also in the bed).
Shower
Hot, thermostatic outdoor shower. Perfect to warm up and wash off post surf/swim or just freshen up alfresco!
Kitchen
- Double ring gas hob. Big enough to get a frying pan and a saucepan on at the same time so you can cook up a storm in the kitchen! (Gas bottle supplied)
- Large sink with hot and cold water mixer tap.
- Fridge. Big enough to keep your beers cool and some food in too. (Only usable when when using the electric hook up on a campsite or driving/driving regularly as it drains the leisure battery really fast.
- food preparation area large enough to fit a chopping board (provided) between the sink and hob.
- large selection of herbs and spices, tea bags and coffee provided.
- Lots of storage for food.
- pots, pans, cutlery, plates, washing up sponge/liquid etc. All provided.
Dining area
The dining area consists of a bench seat and a long dining table, big enough for two adults and a child to dine at, which pulls out from underneath the bed.
Water
Hot and cold water is available from the large 70 litre water tank which is easily refillable from a standard outdoor tap fitting (Filling hose provided). One tank full can last at least two days with average use.
12v electrics
- Remote controlled, dimmable LED spotlights.
- 2 x fast charge usb sockets
- 1 x 12v plug socket with inverter provided to power small 240v household appliances such as laptop chargers.
- 12v, 110ah battery, charged by split relay (charges when van engine is running).
- water pump runs on 12v system.
- battery powered fairy lights in sleeping area.
Electric hook up
- we provide an electric hook up cable and extension lead so you can use 240v items in the van when at a campsite. The fridge has a 240v plug so this can be used when hooked up to the electricity at a campsite.
Heating
- the van is fully insulated to keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
- we use a 240v storage heater when we are connected to electric hook up at campsites, which can be provided. This keeps it nice and toasty on cold nights.
Storage
-Two large storage cupboards above the kitchen area/cab that we use for clothes.
- deep storage cupboard under the bed.
- lots of open shelving for food/toiletries etc.
- cupboard for kitchen equipment.
- bench seat lid lifts up to access a large storage cupboard which is useable if there are not surfboards in the van.
Toilet
There is no built-in toilet in the van as we generally use campsite or public toilets when we’re away. However, we do have a foldable toilet that can be used if you’re caught short!
‘Garage’ area (under bed accessed from the back doors)
-Floor is completely waterproof.
-Surfboard storage - on the right hand side you can fit 2 surfboards up to 8ft in length. On the left hand side you can fit 2 surfboards up to 6ft6 in length.
-The central section under the bed is large and can be accessed from the main van by a cupboard door beneath the bed. We generally use this space for our pram, fire pit, camp chairs and anything else we want to take with us for the beach etc.
-Shelf on right hand side (generally used for wetsuit storage)
So there is ample storage in the back for whatever you wish to take with you, especially if you’re not taking surfboards.
Extras
We provide an awning style tent for chilling outside the van in, camping chairs, a collapsible table, wind break and can also provide a fire pit if required.
We have a space on our driveway which we are happy for you to leave your vehicle in for the duration of your rental.
We love the freedom and adventures that our van has given us and we hope you’ll get to experience this to.
If you have any questions about the van please do not hesitate to contact us.
