Hi, we are offering our 2011 Ford Nugget for anyone looking to take a cool trip (or short getaway). It is a compact camper that fits in a standard parking space, but feels spacious and grand. Includes a large awning, wide upper bed (150 cm wide), bike rack, and is equipped with a fitted kitchen.
The camper features a powerful 2.2-liter diesel engine (140 hp), air conditioning while driving, cruise control, rear parking sensors including a reversing camera, a good auxiliary heater, and a screen for CarPlay / Android Auto.
The Ford Nugget has the pop-top "the other way around" compared to the VW vans, allowing you to cook at the rear. This makes for a much more convenient design than the VW (which we also tested before purchasing this one), and with this version of the Nugget, you can also enter from the back. So, you can cook almost outside, and you can enter and exit the van from two sides. Because of this, you do "lose" the garage/storage space, but thanks to handy chairs and by cleverly storing the table and the large outdoor rug, this works fine without losing storage space. You access the upstairs bed via the kitchen, where a large 150 x 200 bed awaits you, with ventilation built into the test vehicle. Downstairs, you can convert the rear bench seat with 3 seatbelts into a double bed measuring 130 x 200.
We use the camper a lot ourselves, so the cupboards are full of treats and extra clothes. Are you going away for a longer period? Then we will of course clear this out so you can use all the cupboard space. Going away for a short time? Then you can always use a dab of toothpaste if you’ve forgotten yours. Furthermore, the kitchen is equipped with all the basics for cooking, including oil, pepper, salt, a dishcloth, etc.
Also suitable for traveling with small children. By arrangement, you can use our high chair (Britax Römer King Pro, well-tested by the Consumers' Association), borrow an additional high chair (Ikea), and I can show you how we installed a safety rail for the upper bunk, ensuring the smaller campers sleep safely upstairs.
