A trendy old T4 camper for traveling with 1 to 4 people, with economical fuel consumption of 14 km per liter of diesel.
We have converted Koos – our green and white bus – into a practical yet cozy vehicle with 2 sleeping berths. We took over the bus from Joost in November 2023; see older reviews. The bed features a 17 cm thick mattress, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed!
It is a T4 Volkswagen bus with a permanent high roof, allowing even taller people to stand comfortably. Additionally, there is plenty of storage space so you can bring along lots of stuff! We have tried to arrange the space as efficiently as possible so that our little bus doesn't feel cramped!
Atmosphere is very important to us, and Koos loves coziness; that is why Koos is equipped with cozy lights that quickly make you feel like a Happy Camper! Comfort is not lacking either, which is why it includes a spacious battery (180aH) for the 18L refrigerator, 2 USB ports for charging, and a 220V socket (only for use with shore power). There are 2 water tanks for clean and waste water (25 liters each). You can cook both inside (2 burners) and outside on the extendable table with a separate gas stove (you do need to bring this yourself). If you are exhausted after dinner, clip the hammock onto the van and enjoy a spacious hammock close to your camper. The hammock can also be used separately between two trees, of course.
To ensure you don't always have to sit in the sun, the eyelets on the bus can also be used to attach the tarp (3 by 3 meters). Extra step poles and lines are included as well. There are also 2 chairs and a table, so you can sit comfortably next to Koos. For real cold, there is also a small 220V electric heater; with this, we get Koos warm in no time, making it a pleasant place to be even on colder days!
Inside, you can rotate the front seats so that you can sit with 4 people, including the bench. So, 4 people can ride along, but the bed is only for 2. Bring an extra tent, and you can still hit the road with 4 people.
After a long day, you want to sleep soundly. That is why we have chosen a thick mattress consisting of 3 separate sections. It includes a custom-made mattress cover, and after sleeping, the bed is easy to fold up again so the separate mattress sections can be placed back on the bed. The blanket and pillow (to be brought by yourself) go in the top compartment, giving you plenty of space in the camper during the day. The bed measures 200x110 cm and runs the length of the van. Next to the bed are two spacious wardrobe sections, and your shoes can be stored under the bench. We also have ample cupboard space so you can neatly store loose items or groceries here.
You can also take bicycles along with Koos: there is a bike carrier for 2 bikes on the back. The camper is approximately 470 cm long, 180 cm wide, and 250 cm high. For safety, it is equipped with a gas detector, a carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher.
Driving the bus requires caution and, above all, not too speeding. It is still an older bus (30 years old), but fortunately, the 1.9 diesel engine has never let us down. 90 to 100 kilometers per hour on the road is a comfortable speed. If you are going uphill, make sure not to rev the bus too much and keep an eye on the engine temperature. You will always get there, just sometimes a minute or ten later. Koos has traveled all over Europe in recent years and can't wait to embark on new adventures with you!
Insurance for international roadside assistance, replacement transport, and repatriation is included. The camper is also fully insured. I have activated Goboony's daily insurance for this to ensure you can travel with peace of mind. This insurance is specifically tailored to renting out private campers and is therefore the most suitable option. The cost for this is €25 per day. Because I, as a rental owner, also benefit from good insurance, these costs are my responsibility and are included. You pay nothing extra.
The camper is located in Zwolle, potentially within walking distance of the station if you wish to pick it up by train. Free parking is also available nearby should you prefer to leave your car behind.
