Hi, thanks for looking at this “old” ambulance!
I bought this beautiful Mercedes bus and converted it into a camper together with a few friends. It is fully equipped with most conveniences. It is perfect for a wonderful holiday for two. Thanks to the spacious kitchen, there is plenty of room to cook indoors and, if needed, wash up in the full-sized sink. There is 20 liters of fresh water available. Cooking is done on gas, using a two-burner gas stove. There is always plenty of gas available.
Living space:
The bus is equipped with both air conditioning and heating in the living area, but these only operate when the engine is running. It is therefore advisable to turn the air conditioning or heating on full blast while driving. There is also electric heating available that operates on 230V. Furthermore, there is built-in ventilation and extraction that is always operational, even when not connected to shore power. Additionally, there is an extra quiet fan that you can switch on at night.
One of the things that makes this bus so special is that ambulances have sliding doors on both sides. This allows you to create a pleasant, open, and bright space when all the doors are open. As a result, it is rarely too hot in the bus during the day. For the night, there is a large sliding window with a mosquito net to keep mosquitoes out. All windows are fitted with blackout curtains that you can quickly attach with magnets.
There is a cool box available (30 liters) which can also be used as a freezer if desired. It operates on both 12/24V and 230V.
You will also find an air fryer in the kitchen! Handy for fried potatoes, snacks, or baking rolls!
If you are at a location with a power supply, you can easily connect the bus to shore power to conserve the batteries. Incidentally, the 230V and 12V always work — until the battery runs out, of course.
The bus is equipped with a pull-out bed measuring 140W x 200L cm, which is very easy to extend.
There are 230V sockets in five locations in the living area, and another three in the cabin. There are also more than enough USB ports to charge all your devices (but that is of course not necessary, because you are on vacation 😉).
Once everything is installed, there is an easy-to-use folding table and 2 chairs for enjoying a meal. For relaxing and reading a book, for example, comfortable folding chairs are available!
While driving:
Thanks to the powerful 3-liter V6 diesel engine, the bus climbs mountains effortlessly — as long as the road is paved. This bus is not suitable for off-road driving. The engine is Euro 6, so you can enter any low-emission zone with it. During your trip, you don't have to worry about refueling AdBlue; I will take care of that for you.
While driving, you have cruise control and a great radio system that allows you to listen to your own music wirelessly via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Parking is made easy by the 360-degree camera system.
The bus is equipped with air suspension, which ensures that speed bumps are smoothly dampened. The suspension can be adjusted in height if desired. You can use this to level the camper. If the suspension doesn't work, stabilizer blocks are available!
Other information:
The camper can be picked up in Almere. You can park your car nearby for free.
Via Goboony, you also pay cleaning costs. This is a fee for the use of gas, AdBlue, and bedding, among other things.
The advertisement also states that you must return the camper before 11:00 AM. I often don't mind if the camper is returned a little later! Please let me know immediately in your request!
