This dream campervan was built—mostly by ourselves—for adventure. Equipped with a powerful engine, it drives smoothly even in the mountains. It offers luxury and comfort, even for a few days off the grid. The natural materials and warm colors create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The very open layout makes you feel like you're in a small cabin. The campervan is equipped with unique games for endless entertainment...
To sleep
Two large beds are always made. The top bunk (1.40x2.00) has cooling options via the Maxxfan Deluxe above it and through the two windows on either side. Even tall people (2m) can stretch out here, as there's room to extend the mattress with a pillow and because their feet can hang over.
The cozy lower bunk (1.60x2.00) offers space for two adults or three young children. Here too, you can enjoy the fresh air thanks to the windows on both sides.
Both bed linen and kitchen towels are included.
Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with a two-burner ceramic hob (Wallas Duo) that runs on diesel from the main tank. The name "Duo" refers to its heating function. The inlet and outlet are fully enclosed and located on the outside under the camper. We had this installation done by a specialist company. There is also a refrigerator with a freezer compartment and a sink with a cold water tap. Kitchen utensils, plates, cutlery, etc. are provided. There is a hand blender, kettle, and a small oven that runs on the stove (Omnia brand). A detailed inventory list can be provided.
The standing height is 186 to 187 cm (entry vs. aisle).
Compost toilet
Under the kitchen is a convenient composting toilet with a Trobolo urine diverter, which prevents odors. There is no separate toilet room.
Sitting area
Because both the front passenger bench and the driver's seat are rotatable, a seating area for five people can be created.
There is a spacious folding table which can be easily assembled and disassembled.
In cold weather, the heated mat can be turned on under the table to keep your feet warm.
Outside
A 3x3m cotton tarp with tall poles is provided to provide shade. Camping chairs and one or two tables are also available, if desired.
Natural materials
We used as many natural and biodegradable materials as possible in the construction of the camper. It was insulated with sheep's wool (washed, so it doesn't smell), the plywood has less harmful glue than standard plywood, the walls are finished with cork, and the wood is treated with oil or natural paint.
Storage space
There's plenty of storage space under the lower bunk. Small children's bikes fit underneath, as does a stroller or handcart. This space is accessible from inside via the raised bed bases. Large items can be accessed through the rear doors. See also the photos.
In addition, there is a spacious storage compartment above the first row of seats, where clothes can be stored, for example.
After consultation, it is possible to transport two adult bicycles in the aisle, provided they are properly protected and secured.
Weight and consumption
Traveling with five adults or as a family with three older children isn't possible, given the limited weight that can be taken on board besides the (very complete) inventory. This might sound strange, since the title states that the campervan is light. But from experience, we know that most campervans advertised with a category B driving license actually weigh more than 3500 kg. Even though the registration certificate states a weight well below this maximum, after adding accessories, inventory, people, and personal luggage, most campervan owners—consciously or unconsciously—exceed it. As a result, you might think you're well-insured, while the insurance won't pay out in the event of damage (e.g., an accident).
That's why we advise our renters to inquire about the camper's delivery weight beforehand. In the case of the Blueberry, it's 3140 kg. This means a family of two adults and three young children of average weight can pack the camper without worry.
The Blueberry's consumption is 1/11.3, which is very economical for a large camper.
Also nice to know
The power supply is a separate package that includes two solar panels, an inverter, and a battery. This therefore does not affect the engine system's battery. If desired, the camper can be connected to a power point; cables are provided.
Both the kitchen and the living area have 12V and 220V outlets. The 220V outlet can be used for low-power appliances, such as a laptop. Higher-power appliances should only be used when the camper is connected to shore power to prevent draining the battery. This includes heat sources such as kettles.
It's still camping: a hot shower requires waiting until the sun has heated the water in the black bag... coffee can be made with a percolator or back to basics with a pour-over...
The four large windows are fitted with mosquito netting or blackout blinds (see photo). The windshields are insulated, which blocks the sun in summer and keeps the heat in during the winter. It also provides privacy.
There's a second Maxxfan above the seating area. By running both simultaneously on a low setting, you can create active ventilation. One fan blows air out and the other extracts air, ensuring a constant supply of fresh air. To prevent noise pollution while driving, an insulation panel is installed in front of the front Maxxfan.
Insurance
We have taken out camper insurance with Univé, which also covers use by renters. In addition to third-party liability and comprehensive coverage, it includes passenger insurance and roadside assistance at home and abroad (for countries listed on the Green Card).
If the camper is declared a total loss, stolen, or has suffered such (covered) damage that it cannot be repaired before the start of the holiday (planned within 30 days), or if the holiday has to be interrupted, a replacement holiday accommodation will be reimbursed (max. 21 days and €35 per person per night).
We will send you the exact policy conditions for the Univé camper insurance upon request. These are similar to the policy conditions for the Goboony day insurance.
The camper is equipped with all-season tires that were renewed in 2022/2023.
The amenities list states that there is a gas stove with a gas cylinder. This refers to our cooktop, as described in the kitchen.
The location in Havelte is easily accessible by public transport.
Much is possible upon consultation, such as adjusting pick-up and drop-off times. Ask your question, and we'll do our best!
