My camper is a 1990 Ford-Rimor with 2500cc naturally aspirated diesel engine, 4-season tyres.
The vehicle is 5.50m long and 2.15m wide, about 2.80m high, weighing about 26 quintals, it is well suited to driving on the plains or in the hills, not recommended in the mountains or on too steep or undulating roads, in any case total CAUTION is required when maneuvering and moving, especially in city centers (always not recommended with a camper), in any case, the guidance of those who already have experience with driving campers, vans, pickup trucks or minibuses is very welcome, nonetheless the maneuverability and fluidity of this vehicle are excellent, the drive is really soft and relaxing.
I equipped the vehicle with 2 solar panels and two 100Ah service batteries, there is also an inverter in the passenger area with a 220V socket to use in case of need.
Internally it has a large locker / garage (there are up to two internal bicycles plus suitcases).
There were originally 6 sleeping places but they have been reduced to 3 to leave space in the "garage" locker area and not always having to dismantle the dinette table, so there are two seats in the overcab and one on a folding bed above the rear locker, the can hold maximum 55/60 kg.
The vehicle is equipped with a chemical toilet to be emptied on average every 2-3 days if traveling with 3 people.
The shower is inserted in the bathroom, including the sink, curtain and coat hanger.
Obviously there is hot water with a 15 liter gas boiler.
The water tank is about 100 litres, that of the gray ones 70 so it must be emptied before running out of service water.
The fridge works both at 12V (if running) and at 220V if connected to the mains.
The kitchen has a double stove, sink with soaps, gloves etc..
The dinette area, equipped with a large table, has 3 comfortable seats.
Both in the bathroom and in the attic, the light is adjustable (low for reading or bright).
Internally the habitability is very functional, it is really a micro apartment.
All windows and portholes have mosquito nets and blinds.
4 out of 5 walls have been redone or rebuilt almost entirely.
There is a radio with USB input, two speakers in the dinette area and a remote control with which to set the radio without getting up.
As already specified in the kilometrics, the camper can be used in the following regions, Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Piedmont, Tuscany.
Tips and tricks:
- Always pay attention to underpasses, signs and protruding balconies (the camper is about 280 cm high)
- Pay attention to the voltage regulator (must not exceed 16.0V for too long).
- Be careful when maneuvering in narrow places, it is always better to have someone get out to give us directions.
- Don't forget the lights on! (the battery would run out in
short while).
- Always drive with caution and moderation and always pay attention to prohibitions and speed limits.
- The cleaning of the bathroom, kitchen/table area and beds is always appreciated.
- Move gently and sparingly inside the camper.
-Enjoy yourselves.
-I advise against smoking, but if you let it always be well ventilated.
