Tony's original communication and his hand over of "Dougie" were faultless. We are a family of 4 and went to York, Whitby and Northumberland back via the Yorkshire dales. 700 miles and Dougie never missed a beat. We wanted to try campervanning and Dougie gave us the perfect platform to try it out. We fell in love with it, literally the best holiday we've had as a family. Spec and fit out of Dougie was superb for us. You get organised quickly as you get used to being in the van and pitching up is so easy at the campsites. An unbelievable experience, Tony and his campervan were a great introduction to the campervan lifestyle. Thanks Tony! 👍

The hand-over went very well, with Michal meeting us in the lower car park to transfer our car with the van (a great bonus being able to leave the car where the van is usually parked), and we transferred all of our gear without any fuss. Very happy with the vehicle. Comfortable, nice to drive, good economy for a diesel automatic (approx 32 mpg over five hundred miles). The underlying vehicle is the well specified High Line T6.1 van, so it comes with wired Apple CarPlay (and the Android equivalent), plus adaptive cruise control, which I found wonderful to use. Bring a USB-C cable to plug in the dashboard. The van was clean and well looked after. We missed some camping essentials, so be prepared to bring along glasses and mugs if you want the slightly more luxurious experience - but she (or is it he) was kitted out with essentials, which was great - including two fold up outdoor chairs and a big table, however, bring your own fold up chairs if you want a bit of outdoor comfort as the supplied chairs are more for space saving than comfort. Equipped with a two-seater rear bench seat, so slightly narrower than we'd ideally want in a van, (but you do gain a bit of extra storage), but with the pop-top, it was possible for one of us to sleep upstairs as it were, and the other on the rock-and-roll bed below. We had a Labrador with us, so she made herself very comfortable. We also brought along a windbreak (the kind you would use on a beach) to give us some privacy outside the van. We travelled to SW Wales and stayed on some "okay" campsites along the way (six nights in total). We used electric hook-up at each site, but to be honest, I don't think this is essential as the van has a leisure battery and an inverter, so as long as you don't demand too much from your mains supply, just running off-grid may be better (there are two mains sockets in the van). Getting away from the hard-standing electric hook-up often gets you away from the caravans and the larger "block of flats" motorhome scene. I looked on with envy at some other VW vans in a field at one site. We took advantage of the gas oven to make some toast, and the gas burner for morning drinks, although we did end up purchasing a low-wattage electric kettle as the supplied gas kettle was quite arduous for big tea and coffee drinkers. Michal and Martyna couldn't have been more helpful in assisting us with minor questions along the way; they were also very flexible, and returning the vehicle at the end of the trip went smoothly. Overall, a lovely van, well presented, economical, lovely to drive, and well managed by the owners.

My son and I had an awesome time renting Dean’s motorhome for 4 days, off grid. The trip did not get off to the best start... I somehow managed to hit a small branch in the country lanes near Dean’s home, which damaged the wing mirror and a side light. Dean was super reasonable about it however and we figured out the replacement parts that were needed after the rental, and sorted it out easily between us. I was grateful for that. Now the review stuff... It’s a gorgeous RV and extremely comfortable. It’s also easy to drive - large enough that you get decent living space, small enough that you can get in to most larger petrol stations without panic. The styling is cool, modern and it feels like you are flying business class. The fridge and freezer work super well and are decently sized. The supplied kitchen kit and other random items (e.g. broom set) is comprehensive, and this is a common issue when renting RV’s. Small missing items like a can opener or a spatula or dish liquid or a sponge can be an outsized annoyance. We had none of that. We are used to much larger North American RV’s, so going off grid required some adjustment. The European cassette style black water tank is much smaller than we’re used to, although ultimately far more flexible than a pump out style North American one. Without going into too much detail, you can empty it in far more places. We did that once during our trip. The only struggle we had was with hot water and half the issue was we couldn’t figure out which way to turn the taps for hot, and which way for cold! Which sounds ridiculous, until you understand how precious water is off grid. Not knowing how long to leave them running for the hot to kick in was another aspect. Basically we couldn’t risk losing 1/4 of our water supply figuring it out, and were without cellphone service at our location to call Dean for assistance. So if I have one regret it is not spending a little more time testing the hot water before heading off to a cellular barren zone. To be fair, Dean does not list the RV as being suitable for off grid, so this was entirely on us. Overall I couldn’t recommend this mortorhome more. It looks just like the pictures and is very comfortable. We would rent it again in a heartbeat.
