I converted this bus into a maximum off-grid camper. Construction was completed in December 2023 into a rock-solid, reliable, hyper-insulated, comfortable camper for adventure trips with 2. (can be used with an extra child, 3 seats in the cabin)
The interior is made entirely of poplar and pine. In other words, it can take a beating.
There is more than enough storage space; in the cupboards, the trunk, the alcove and on the roof.
The bus is suitable for exploring the north and south.
On the one hand, it has a thermostatically adjustable hot-air diesel heater of 3000W, connected to the diesel tank. On the other hand, 2 camper windows and a roof hatch. It is also equipped with 7 LED light points and 2 reading lights with USB connection above the bed.
Of course, everything can be 100% darkened and fitted with mosquito netting.
The emphasis is on "independent as long as possible", "off-grid".
"Technically" it is equipped with a 260Amp. household battery, combined with a 360Watt solar panel. Maw; never without 12 or 220 Volt. Please note! Up to 500 watts; no irons or hairdryers, but as many laptops, telephones and Bluetooth speakers as there are stars in the sky.
The pure water tank is extra large, 150L (with level meter), the dirty water tank 25L, both easy to empty/fill outside. (tools on board). The water pump has a flow rate of 2.8 Bar, which means that a hot water outdoor shower could be installed in addition to the kitchen tap.
The refrigerator has an extra large volume of 100 liters, with a freezer compartment for the ice cubes in the mock or cocktails.
The built-in 3-burner gas stove-oven combination hangs from a 5kg gas bottle.
A porta-potti toilet is built-in.
A bicycle carrier can be mounted on the towbar.
Mechanically, the 3-liter Euro 4 with 163 hp is strong enough to tow an extra caravan/brake/etc or to handle any slope. Couple on surplus. please note; no 4x4.
The cabin is equipped with air conditioning and a JVC apple / android carplay unit, which makes traveling very easy.
Comfort means to me; don't have to "modulate" every day. Everything is therefore "fixed" and immediately usable. The bed is retractable from 140 to 110, which is interesting if you travel alone.
Spending the night somewhere to continue driving the next morning is not tied to building or breaking down structures for sleeping and/or cooking/eating.
Regarding "comfort", I would like to say that there are 2 aluminum tables and two full-sized camping chairs on board as standard, as well as a fresh bottom sheet, towels and sufficient crockery.
On the sliding door side, the 3.6 m string awning with a 2 m projection can be slid into its rail. The awning is waterproof and UV-resistant. Confirmation takes 15 minutes.
Comfort also means "sleeping well". consequently I bought my mattress of very good quality, 20cm thick. The bed is also 196cm, believe me; a bliss if you are quite tall. There are also three comfortable seats in the interior with a folding table in between. compact but large enough for two to sit at the table.
2 kayaks are available for those who want; the most obvious is my two-person polyester kayak, which is relatively easy to unload/load using the telescopic retractable ladder. Paddles, life jackets and other attributes can also be "borrowed"... Borrowing the kayak is at your own risk!
