EsteVan – On the road with EsteVan

The intention was... to build an Insta-famous camper. However, it soon became apparent that safety and comfort were much higher on our priority list than the world's most photogenic finish. Estevan – our DIY Ford Transit camper – was built with the aim of working and living comfortably remotely for a year.

We, Anneke and Jonas, have (unfortunately) already had that year. For a year we lived comfortably in EsteVan, from where we also worked full-time. We opted for 100% safety and had all important elements built and/or checked by a professional: windows, water system, gas and electricity.

EsteVan was already in the north of Norway, he drove around Greece, took us to Italian cuisine and visited every possible Costa in Spain. Where the next adventure takes him: you decide!

✨TECHNICAL✨

- Ford Transit from 2018 with 116,000 kilometers on the odometer.
- 130 horses brave mountain and valley.
- 3 seats, 2 sleeping places, a third person can sleep on the floor, but then it will be a bit cramped.
- Fully installed for digital nomads who combine work and travel.
- During spring-summer-autumn: All-weather tires; equipped with winter tires in winter.

✨COMFORT✨

- Offgrid possible due to extensive electricity system and large water tanks (dirty 96 L, clean 112 L).
- Battery is charged while driving, via the solar panels or connected to shore power via a cable.
- No hassle with gas bottles, a 70L gas tank is mounted at the bottom of the car with which you can effortlessly cook and heat for months.
- Heating that survived the Norwegian autumn without any problems (provisional experience with freezing temperatures down to -5°C)
- Exceptionally large bed (200x160cm) with a good, thick mattress and bedding.
- Large (gas) stove (3-burner) with built-in (gas) oven.
- We ensure that all the basic necessities are provided for you.

✨SAFETY✨

You don't have to be afraid that the same two left hands who installed the crooked skirting boards did the entire construction:

- Gas has been completely installed by a professional.
- The electricity system has been devised by us, checked by a professional and partly developed by the professional.
- The water system was also done by the same professional; just like all the mounting at the bottom of the car of the gray water tank and gas tank.
- EsteVan is equipped with two alarm systems: a gas alarm and a smoke alarm.
- We deliver EsteVan with a steering lock and a GPS tracker.

When you rent, you will always receive a Safety Briefing so that you can learn how to turn off gas and/or electricity if necessary.

✨DECORATION✨

The kitchen is large and fully equipped. A gas stove with 3 cooking zones (it doesn't always have to be one-pan dishes) and a full-fledged oven. Did someone shout “Pizza!”? There is a large L-shaped cooking island with a spacious sink (cold and hot water). Pots and pans can be found in the cupboards under the stove. The refrigerator (65 liters) with freezer ensures that you can go further.

Living and sleeping: two spacious sofas with cushion, a table, 2 sockets and 6 USB ports. The bed (200x160cm) extends easily and can be installed in no time. We provide the necessary bedding. You can of course bring your own teddy bear.

Heating/Water: Cold outside? Not inside! Thanks to the Truma heating, the room heats up quickly via gas and/or shore power. This system also provides hot water. Ventilation systems keep the air nice and fresh.

Off the grid: Need some seclusion? The ultimate freedom? A large battery and solar panels ensure that you rarely have to stand among the other row of campers on the very busy campsite. Still need extra power? Everything is provided to recharge you in no time. A toilet is hidden in the cupboard space under the sink.

Storage space: The spacious 'garage' at the back has room for at least 2 large suitcases and contains some useful extras: leveling blocks, cleaning materials, toiletries, camping chairs and table, a drying rack (if necessary) and all extras that may be useful for your adventure . You can refill the water and the outdoor shower (also with cold and hot water) provides the necessary refreshment.

In the living area itself there are plenty of cupboards to store everything. We already fill some of them ourselves with useful items for the camper, herbs, games, first aid kit, ...

Extra: Need a lot of data and not always the same range? EsteVan is equipped with a router and extra antenna (SIM not included).

✨THE RENT IN A NUTSHELL✨

- Pick up in Mechelen or Schiplaken (Boortmeerbeek). Calendar is up to date.
- Including welcome package, travel guides and a stocked games cupboard (and an emergency kit!)
- EsteVan drinks Diesel and is delivered and returned full.
- Waste water tank and toilet must be emptied upon return, the rest 'wipe clean' (we do a major cleaning inside and outside).
- Insured through the Goboony day insurance.
- Unforgettable experiences and the camping virus that takes over you!
