Motorhome and Campervan Hire in South Ayrshire Council
Sharon and Andrew were just the loveliest hosts! Van Maisy was perfect for our first camping trip away with our latest furry baby edition. We travelled from York (which is well worth exploring, especially the shambles) to the lake district and then went on to the Yorkshire dales for a couple of nights. Hugo (furry baby) was super comfy on the chairs at night and we slept in the pop up roof which was also very comfortable! Unzip the sides for stargazing/sunsets and sunrises. This was possibly my favourite feature. The van was lovely and easy to drive, very easy to operate and has some excellent spaces for storage, good if you're not a light packer!! Cooking, cleaning and eating all made so easy and comfortable with the option of setting up outside if the weather is good. We love how everything seems to have been thought about to ensure the users of van maisy have the best experience possible. We will certainly be hiring again. Nicole and Kayleigh xx
We had an amazing time on our family trip in VanMaisie! The van was immaculate, roomy, ran well, and was very well thought out - lots of lovely little details and extras, so we hardly needed to bring anything with us. Sharon and Andrew were great with the kids and couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommended!
The van was perfect for our trip, the fit-out internally is still fresh out of the box and the van drives really well and is easy to manoeuvre around tight lanes etc. We took it up to Scotland and very much enjoyed our trip, stopping off grid and at a site with facilities to hook up to electric etc. Would recommend Shaun as a host, he gave a very thorough demonstration of all the vehicles features.
Shaun was a very friendly, helpful owner, always ready to help with any queries by phone before or during the hire period. As newbies to campervanning he explained everything well and in layman’s terms so driving and using the van was comfortable and relaxed. He has a range of add-ons that come with the van (e.g. roll mats for the bed, camp chairs and a table, spare gas bottle, torches) and the van itself is well equipped and ready to go. Our only regret was that we did not take up Shaun’s offer to use the drive-away awning – but hopefully we’ll try that next time. We were even supplied with canned goodies in the fridge (pale ales and spirit mixers) – these went down a treat. As he had no immediate prior bookings to our planned pick-up or nothing immediately after our due return date Shaun let us collect earlier and return later so we had a few more hours in the van, which was great. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances we had to come home a day early and Shaun has kindly offered us to take a day at no additional cost later in the year, which we both appreciated. I have no doubt we’ll be taking on the offer hopefully in warmer, drier weather than we met this time on our Yorkshire coast tour. Having never driven a long wheel base van before and having heard tales of difficulty parking I’m pleased to say this was not the case, driving and parking was easy (and the parking sensors are a useful backup if you are in any doubt). The weather could have been better but I don’t think the van could have been. A highly recommended, friendly and minimal stress hire process. Thank you Shaun and Kate 😊👍
