The Isle of Wight festival is one of the biggest summer festivals in the UK and the perfect place to experience through campervan or motorhome hire.
The festival began in 1968 and there were a series of festivals until 1970 when over 5 days, acts such as Jimi Hendrix, The Who and Supertramp played to an audience of over 600,000.The festival was revived in 2002 and is now the first big festival on the summer calendar at the beginning of June. It prides itself on being a festival for real music lovers. Since 2002 it has had huge success and has attracted big name acts including the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, the Foo Fighters, Kasabian, Amy Winehouse and many more.
It is just 2 hours from London and as an island offers a great feeling of freedom! The festival appeals to all age groups with special teen tickets and family friendly areas. Campervans are more than welcome at the site with 7 x 7 m pitches and an awning or tent is also allowed as long as it fits in this space. Each member of the party will need to purchase a Weekend ticket, as well as a Campervan ticket.
