Liked: Quiet restful location, easy walk to the small but well stocked shop. Good stopover spot. Swimming pool was excellent. Little shop on site was adequate for an easy meal. Owners were very pleasant and
Could be better: Toilet block was always clean, however, cleaning a little later in the morning would be more convenient. Hand soap should be available in the toilet.

Liked: I've stayed at Le Deffay before based to the great stay I previously enjoyed. This year was no exception, excellent facilities and beautifully quiet given that I visited in the second half of August. The management and staff run an excellent site. I look forward to my next visit

Could be better: Toilet block could benefit from more regular cleaning. Some showers were blocked with hair.

Liked: Warm and friendly welcome, personally shown to our pitch. Great shop with a nice washroom and toilet block. Nice swimming pool and restaurant too.
Could be better: More sun loungers for pool. We had to bring our own but other than that it was great.

Great pitch, old toilets
Liked: The pitch size and position was great, the pool lovely, the restaurant…. Nice, a little expensive and doesn’t cater for kids.
Could be better: Complete refurbishment of the toilet block is needed and more attention to the cleaning. I felt the site needed a shake up. They advertise pedlo’s but the ones there are very broken, the place generally looked unloved.

Lovely site with a very peaceful outlook.
Liked: Huge pitches and plenty with tree cover. Lovely pool and a nice restaurant and bar adjacent
Could be better: Toilets lacked soap and whilst we were able to get bread from the chef there was no mention at the reception. Bread and croissants in the morning would have been nice as the nearest Boulangerie was a distance away.

Great site
Liked: Lovely quiet site with good facilities. Fantastic restaurant and bar. We had two very nice lunches and would return again if only for that. Great walled dog run was appreciated by the dogs.
Could be better: Some updating of toilets and showers would help but not an issue. A lack of a bread delivery was a shame but it was in low season.

Liked: Good size pitches, lo ely lake views, good sanitary facilities, lovely pool and good restaurant/bar. Very quiet and relaxing
Could be better: We were then in 40 degrer plus heat. More sun shades/parasols at the lovely pool please, even if some have to be replaced each year!I Please sell ice creams at reception and bar!. Provide more light in the washing -up area that is open.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
Article 1 – Scope of the General Terms and Conditions
These general terms and conditions govern all sales of stays made on the website www.camping-le-deffay.com, directly by phone, by postal mail, or by email. They are an integral part of any contract concluded between the campsite and its clients.
Each client acknowledges having read these terms and conditions prior to making any reservation, for themselves and for all persons participating in the stay.
In accordance with applicable law, these general terms and conditions are made available to all clients for information prior to the conclusion of any stay sales contract. They may also be obtained upon written request sent to the establishment's headquarters.
Article 2 – Reservation Conditions
2.1 Price and Payment
The price of stays is indicated in euros, including VAT and booking fees. Clients are reminded that the tourist tax and waste collection fee are not included in the price.
For camping pitches and rental reservations: Every reservation is personal and cannot be transferred. The reservation becomes effective only with our agreement and after receipt and clearance of the total deposit and booking fees within 7 days. After this period, the reservation will be canceled. If the client renews the reservation more than twice without paying the deposit within the required time frame, any further reservation requests will be automatically rejected.
For any unreported delay, the rental or pitch becomes available 24 hours after the arrival date indicated in the reservation contract. Beyond this period, and in the absence of written notice, the reservation will be canceled, and the full cost of the stay will be due to the campsite management.
Pitches and rentals comply with current legislation on campsites.
2.2 Reservation Modifications
No reduction will be granted for late arrival or early departure.
Any reservation made without a promotion or commercial discount cannot retroactively benefit from such discounts.
2.3 Cancellation
For any cancellation by the client, amounts already paid or due to the campsite management will be retained as follows:
More than 60 days before the start of the stay: 0% of the total price including VAT.
Between 60 and 30 days: 30% of the total price including VAT.
Between 30 and 20 days: 50% of the total price including VAT.
Between 20 and 10 days: 75% of the total price including VAT.
Between 10 and 0 days: 100% of the total price including VAT.
In all cases, booking fees and the amount of Cancellation Insurance (if subscribed) are non-refundable.
2.4 Withdrawal
The legal provisions on the right of withdrawal for distance selling under the French Consumer Code do not apply to tourism services (Article L.121-20-4 of the Consumer Code).
Therefore, for any booking with the campsite, the client does not benefit from any right of withdrawal.
2.5 Cancellation Insurance
We recommend subscribing to cancellation insurance. This contract provides cancellation coverage, allowing reimbursement of amounts paid in case of cancellation or early departure under certain conditions (illness, accident, etc.). This insurance is provided by CAMPEZCOUVERT.
Insurance rates:
Camping pitch: 3.25% of the stay amount
Mobile Home or Chalet rental: 3.25% of the stay amount
2.6 Cancellation by the Campsite
If the campsite cancels this contract before the client takes possession of the rental, for any reason except force majeure or third-party causes, the campsite will refund double the deposit received.
In the event of force majeure, an alternative rental period will be offered. If the client cannot accept the new period, the deposit will be refunded. Refunds will be sent by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt within 15 days from the cancellation notice.
Article 14-3 – Exceptional Situations
In case of exceptional situations defined by the French government (pandemic, wars, terrorism, etc.), official government decrees will apply.
If force majeure occurs before the start of the rental, the parties will agree on a new rental date. If rescheduling is not possible, the rental will be canceled, and the client refunded all amounts paid.
If force majeure occurs after the rental has begun, an alternative date will be proposed. If the client cannot accept it, the campsite will refund the client for the unused rental hours. Refunds will be sent by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt within 15 days of the contract termination notice.
Article 3 – Stay Procedures
3.1 Arrivals and Departures
Camping: arrivals from 2:00 PM, departures before 12:00 PM any day of the week.
Rentals: arrivals between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM; departures before 10:00 AM. In low season, Wednesday and Saturday departures; in July and August, Saturday-to-Saturday.
3.1.1 Late Arrivals
For arrivals after 7:00 PM, a mailbox is available to collect the keys.
3.1.2 Late Departures
Returning the keys or vacating the pitch after the departure time will incur an additional night charge.
Any extension must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure.
3.2 Security Deposit
A €350 deposit per accommodation is required upon arrival. It will be refunded on departure after inspection. Any damages will be charged in addition to the stay price.
A €135 cleaning deposit per accommodation is also required. It will be refunded after inspection; additional cleaning fees may apply if the accommodation is not left in perfect condition.
If absent during inspection, the deposit will be returned by mail.
3.3 Pets
Pets are allowed, one per pitch or rental, and must be vaccinated; proof may be requested upon arrival.
Pet rates:
Camping pitch: €5/day
Mobile Home or Chalet: fixed rate
3.4 House Rules
As required by law, clients must comply with the house rules, filed at the prefecture, displayed at reception, and available upon request.
Article 4 – Liability
The campsite is not responsible for damages to the camper’s own equipment. Civil liability insurance is mandatory (FFCC, ANWB, ADAC, etc.).
Article 5 – Applicable Law
These general terms and conditions are governed by French law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the Tribunal de Grande Instance of Saint-Nazaire or the Commercial Court of Saint-Nazaire.
5.1 Consumer Dispute Mediation
Under the Consumer Code’s provisions, the client may use the campsite’s free mediation service. The designated mediator is MEDICYS.
