Camping Les Patis

Liked: Les Patis was a friendly, relaxed, small-scale family campsite. There are many cyclists staying for 1–3 nights, but there are also campers who stay for longer periods. The toilet facilities are quite outdated, but they are kept very clean. At the food truck, which is permanently located on the campsite, you can order simple meals as well as smoothies and ice cream. The pitches are spacious, with or without shade, depending on your preference. All in all, Les Patis is highly recommended if you enjoy a peaceful campsite with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Could be better: The toilet facilities

Liked: Quiet, mostly shady, pitch with easy access to mostly quiet showers/toilets and wash basins. Loo roll and hand soap provided. Good Wi-Fi coverage and performance. We loved our stay because the site was mostly quiet with about 40% of pitches unused. This and the lack of any large entertainment made our experience ideal and quiet. Location was ideal for many local attractions. The pitches are large giving you plenty of space.

Could be better: Overall, there's not much that can be improved without significant investment. The shower block is very clean, and you can change the shower temperature, unlike the basins. There's also no physical barriers between toilets and washing areas unlike some other sites, but I would keep it as it is. This simple camping is just how we like it.

Liked: Peaceful and spacious private pitches. Perfect location with everything you need on site . Bargain price for a truly relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend.

Liked: We booked this site as a lay-over for the rest of our holiday further south. Reception was quick and friendly, on-site snackbar was fantastic!

Liked: Great customer service when we arrived, very welcoming. We were able to start our bike rides right from the campground. Good facilities for showering and laundry. Also easy to use camper waste water disposal and water fill-up.

Liked: Very friendly & helpful staff. Les Patis worked very well for us we could easily cycle into Amboise and pick up the Loire a Velo cycle paths from there. The campsite was very clean, tidy and a lovely, tranquil spot from which to explore the area.

Could be better: None.

Could be better: Washblock ok but could benefit from improvement& hotter water

Liked: Thought the snack bar was a great idea, the location was excellent both for cycling and sightseeing. Lovely shaded area for pitches.

Could be better: Firstly I think the sanitary block needs improving. I don't think it's a good idea to have the refuse bins inside this building. The whole block is cold and dismal. The hot water is not very hot and varies in different shower cubicles. The outside cafe could be cosier, with grass cut tables ready for guests and not so spread out. Reception hut and entrance needs a massive tidy up as first impressions matter.

Liked: Peace and quiet. Excellent sanitaire facilities, probably best we’ve seen.

Could be better: None noted

Liked: Sanitary facilities were good. Pitches large enough with water supply.

Could be better: Location was further out of Amboise than we realised. Not really walkable there and back to do an activity.
