More than 252,250 travellers were ahead of you

We rented the van last year to follow the cycling World Championships around Scotland. Kerrie and Scott are absolutely fabulous hosts and explained everything there was to know for first time motorhome renters; myself, wife, 13 year old and border collie on arrival and collection. The van has pretty much everything you'll need for your holiday and plenty of space in the garage area for storage. Inside is laid out really well, the drop down bed is simple to operate and totally out of the way when not in use. The fixed rear bed, which I did have concerns about (as I really don't sleep well in unfamiliar beds and am 6ft3), was actually really comfortable and I had some of the best nights holiday sleep. Front seats are great, nicley adjustable and easy to swivel when you've got yourselves settled. All the facilities are simple to use in terms of electric hookup, fresh water filling, toilet emptying, gas etc. and we had no issues throughout the week. The van drives really well for its size and has plenty of power to get you up some good Scottish gradients. We had a few squeaky moments on some of the narrower B roads but overall managed to navigate it safely around Fort William, Glasgow and Glentress. For the week we had, the van was the best value for money option going, due to the inflated prices for other accommodations, with everyone trying to make the most from the World Champs. Would highly recommend if you're thinking of a motorhome holiday and you certainly won't go wrong renting this one from Kerrie & Scott. Fabulous experience overall, thank you very much. 🙂

Campsites in Italy

Once you’ve considered motorhome hire in Italy, you can turn your attention to the next issue. What are the best campsites in Italy? It would be difficult to name them all, so we’ll narrow it down to the ones that truly stand out. For campsites in North Italy, we look to Camping Rialto. This campsite is ideal for those aiming to see as much as possible, as the city centre is right outside of the campsites gate. Spend your days soaking in Venice and all it has to offer, and then head back to this little oasis of nature and fresh air. For Central Italy, look to Kokopelli Camping to stay as close to nature as possible. Cherish the beautiful views and far reaching fields and forests surrounding you, whilst being provided the basic facilities for an escape from reality. Finally for South Italy, you can camp at Riva di Ugento to be close to the beautiful Lecce and Bari. Enjoy the close proximity to the sea and shaded motorhome pitches as well as the friendly staff eager to advise you on the local area.

Things to Do in Italy

One of the main things to do in Italy is EAT! Italian cuisine is known for its regional diversity, especially between the north and south of the Italian peninsula. It is characterized by its simplicity, with many dishes only having two to four main ingredients, and chefs relying on the quality of the ingredients rather than on elaborate preparation. Various forms of pasta are widely eaten, as well as pizza of course! But be sure to really explore italian cuisine, such as the various pork, seafood and smoked meat dishes. Plus a generous helping of cheese! A great perk is how cheap the food can be, so be sure to bring elasticated pants.

But of course there are other things to do in Italy except eat. A visit to Rome would not be complete without visiting some tourist attractions. The Colosseum and Pantheon will have you speechless, and be sure to make a wish on a coin at the Trevi Fountain. In Milan you can witness the magnificence of the Milan Cathedral as well as enjoy one of the world’s most important fashion capitals. Naples will provide you with the perfect seaside getaway, as well as a day trip to the fascinating historic ruins of Pompeii.

Events in Italy

There are numerous events in Italy for you to visit in your van. Head north to Venice for the Venice Carnival in February, to enjoy the baroque masked ball and unique festivities. Depending on the time of year you visit Milan, you can try to score tickets for one of the various shows during fashion week. This will allow you to make the most of being in this trendsetting city and catch a glimpse of the real Milan. In Torino you can attend the tastiest event of February, the chocolate festival! It will be silly scrumptious and allow you to buy the perfect gifts to bring back home.
