Insurance

The camper is insured with casco (comprehensive insurance) at IF Forsikring. Deductible is up to NOK 4000. Deductible for glass damage (not plastic windows) is NOK 2500. In the event of theft or robbery, the campers's insurance also covers luggage (with a value of up to NOK 40,000). The insurance covers breakdown service throughout Europe (deductible is NOK 500). In the event of damage that cannot be repaired within 3 days, the insurance covers home transport for the renters. Car damage must be reported immediately to the owner. After an accident, the renter must fill in the damage report form that is in the car. It is also important to write a detailed report to the owner and attach a sketch/drawing, even in case of insignificant damage. If the renter refrains - for whatever reason - from writing the report, and if the insurance company therefore does not want to pay for the damage, the renter is obliged to pay for the entire damage repair. The accident report must be fully completed and signed by the time the car is returned to the owner. The report must in particular contain the names and addresses of the persons involved and any witnesses as well as the registration numbers of the cars involved. More details about the insurance are to be found here and here. Attention! The insurance does not cover damage / accidents if the driver is under the influence of alcohol or other drugs or medicines. The insurance does not cover damage caused to the car as a result of negligent driving or behavior. Such damages are covered by the renter. Internal damage is not covered by the insurance either and will be assessed by the owner and deducted from the deposit or invoiced if the deposit is exceeded. A separate travel insurance is recommended for the renter. When using the car's awning, it becomes like a big sail. If the wind catches the awning, great damage can occur both to the car and the awning. The insurance does not cover such damage, and it is encouraged to be careful with usint it when it is windy and when you are not present. At night, it is recommended to roll in the awning. Damage to a car and awning due to the use of an awning must be paid by renter (insurance does not cover it).

Roadside assistance

If the vehicle is immobilised following a breakdown or an incident, you will be covered by the assistance provided by the owner. A dedicated number will allow you to contact the assistance company and will inform you about the treatment steps.

Secure payment

When you pay on Yescapa, the vehicle owner's remuneration is kept in a single and secure wallet until the day after you leave on rental. So, no unpleasant surprises, the owner welcomes you on the day of departure to prepare your first steps with his vehicle. A few days later, the remuneration arrives in the owner's bank account.

Departure security

If you are unable to start your rental due to a vehicle breakdown or for reasons related to the owner, our team will offer you other vehicles that meet your travel criteria, or you will be fully reimbursed.
