Would not recommend, especially for solo female travellers. Before we’d even met, the owner made inappropriate comments about me being “stressed” , after I simply asked about legally disposing of the toilet cassette. Pickup arrangements were changed to a private car park at the last minute and rushed through with no proper handover. The most serious issue: I was locked in said private car park by the site manager, who aggressively questioned me and made me apologise before letting me out — leaving me genuinely frightened as a solo female traveller. When I explained this to the owner, there was no apology, just a comment that the manager was “unhappy with how I’d spoken to him,” followed by tighter demands on returning the van. At no point did the owner show any concern for my wellbeing or safety. I cut my trip short just to avoid further confrontation, and emailed him afterwards to explain the impact this had — he has not responded at all. All in all, a deeply disappointing and upsetting experience. August 2026

Really easy handover with Andrew - everything explained very clearly. Really comfortable double bed, easy to drive, plenty of storage for us and the fridge was just what we needed to keep the food and drinks cool in the hot weather. Will definitely book again. The whole process was easy and Captain Harold is a beautiful vehicle we really enjoyed our time in. July 2026

Great van and great communication at all times. Very smooth and quick handovers and the renters are at the end of the phone if you’ve any queries. And right next to the lovely Gower peninsula! Highly recommended. June 2026

Excellent from start to finish. Great communication throughout from booking, collection, whilst we were away (1st time in a motorhome so needed help!), through to return. Clean, spacious, and practical with our two children. Would thoroughly recommend. July 2025

Really loved our time in Captain Harold. Handover was really smooth and efficient. We went to West Wales to a family wedding during the recent exceptionally hot weather and the motorhome was ideal and the fridge freezer was a godsend. My husband is 6ft 4 and didn't struggle at all inside and had plenty of leg room driving. I thoroughly recommend Captain Harold and will hopefully get to use it again soon.Thank you Sarah and Andrew July 2025

Our adventure was everything we wanted and more! Both Sarah & Maz and were extremely helpful and great at communicating with us both before and during the trip. The motorhome had everything you needed. Everything was controlled from one digital panel making it really easy and straight forward to use. The van had plenty of space making it really comfy! Couldn’t recommend more! We will definitely be hiring again for another trip! 🌞 April 2025
