Unfortunately we had a lot of problems with the van. The van was 20 years old and starting to show it. We had problems with a fuel leak to the heater, a puncture to the water tank, minor water leaks in wet weather as well as major condensation in the area where the bedding is stored. Having said that, Graham did try to rectify problems promptly and finally gave us a different van. When we returned the second van, Graham informed us that Ruby was with a mechanic to address the problems. As it turned out, the weather was bad anyway when we were dealing with these problems so we weren’t too bothered, but we’d have felt a lot more put out if we’d missed out on any good weather days messing with the van. Response from Graeme James, Ruby Red went out with no leak, and no puncture to the tank. If it did we would have cancelled your booking. Due to the cooler weather maybe it would have been better to find another space to put your bedding if the condensation became a problem. The leak was due to the door not being closed firmly enough. Ruby Red has had always had good feedback and is a very popular van. I am sorry she never worked for you, and thankfully we had a back up van for you to enjoy your trip. We graciously walked away without charging you for the damage to Ruby Red. We have fixed all damage and she is doing very well for being 18.

Greame was so lovely and informative throughout the whole process. Me and my boyfriend hired Betty Blue for our first ever adventure up the west coast of Scotland and it was all so dreamy (partly due to lucking out with the weather big time). It's the sort of van that you don't want to give back at the end because you feel like you've created a connection with it from all the memories you've made and how cosy and home like it is. We would definitely hire the van again if we were to come back to Scotland. September 2021

Arthur was a great travel buddy! The bed is really comfy (even for tall people) and there is plenty of space so that you can sit inside if the weather isn't ideal. The van had a couple of prior 'injuries' that we weren't aware of before commencing our journey but are set to be fixed very soon. Overall a great van for a fun adventure! September 2021

We had the best trip in Betty the van! Was perfect for a few days of traveling around wherever we wanted. The van had everything you could need and made for the perfect getaway! Very fun! The only thing we’d have to change would be the magnetic curtains on the back windows- they worked well but it was often quite difficult getting them to stay up! Apart from that we can’t complain and would definitely use one of these vans again! August 2021
