The booking process was easy and contact with the owners was smooth and informative throughout the hire process, including (and very importantly!) once we had collected the motorhome.
Allan and his wife were so friendly and welcoming and seemed to genuinely care about us enjoying our trip. The cream tea was a lovely touch and Allan went out of his way to let us know that there was capacity for us to drop the motorhome back later than planned so we could make the most of our hire.
The brief was informative and detailed and left us feeling confident that we could take good care of the motorhome, but also that any questions would be responded to quickly while we were away. One thing that would have been handy - a head's up about chemicals needed the toilet that Allen isn't allowed to supply. It just would have been easier for us to pick this up before we set out.
The motorhome itself is very clean and well equipped with lots of homely touches to make your stay more enjoyable. We did only find one set of bed linen so perhaps we needed to request the second specifically (the main double bed is already made up) but luckily we had brought some extra blankets/sleeping bags so it worked out ok.
As a family of four with a medium sized dog we found it a bit snug. The main bed was too short for my husband so we ended up in the dining room bed which isn't as wide. Overall it worked for us for a short trip but would have been a challenge for a longer period I think. I imagine you'd also notice this less in the warmer months when you'd probably spend more time outside.
Altogether, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend Allen and his campervan - with a note of caution around the available space for bigger groups like ours.
