Could be better: * Should ideally be grass tent pitches, not mud. * More staff to support more reasonable bar and restaurant opening times, and general maintenance of site. * Washroom lighting should be operable at anytime of the day.

Liked: The setting is tranquil and the facilities excellent. stuart and Sheila are very helpful with a wealth of suggestions for visits in the area. The dining and bar are great and it has to be said the food is excellent

Liked: Very cozy and quiet, very large pool, very friendly service and owners as well, very good food, and very large and beautiful pitches.

Could be better: The showers turn off every 3 seconds and it’s very difficult to wash your hair properly. In addition, the water was too hot, it even burned. The pool also needs maintenance.

Liked: We had a great stay at the Chateau de Lacomté, it was a week of one of the most peaceful campsites I've been on. Bar, restaurant and swimming pool were spot on. Friendly owners and staff provided a lovely service and immaculately clean facilities. Pitches were spacious and shaded or sunny depending on your position and with hedges and trees for privacy. The local village was lovely but no shops or anything. There is however a weekly food event on Tuesday evenings. Lots of beautiful places to visit, I recommend Martel.

Liked: Stuart and Sheila are terrific hosts and have a great team. We loved everything about our stay - excellent food, wonderful location, large level pitch. We will definitely be back and we have no hesitation in recommending this superb site.

Could be better: On the. basis that nothing is perfect it would have been good to have a decent mobile signal at our pitch - this did not detract from our stay S it meant we had to talk to each other!😎

Liked: Great welcome, restaurant was excellent. Shower blocks lovely and clean. We were given loads of local info and recommendations for visits and food etc. really nice site.

Liked: De camping eigenaar was heel vriendelijk en erg behulpzaam. Dit maakte ons verblijf relaxed. Het sanitair was heel schoon. Fijn dat toiletten en douches gescheiden zijn.

Liked: Ontwaakte kan je niet beter doen dan op deze prachtige camping. Grote plekken, ruim uit elkaar, geen gejengel van kinderen, heerlijk. Mooi groot zwembad, leuk restaurant en bar. Heel fijne eigenaren. We hebben genoten, ook van de uilen s nachts.

Could be better: Doordat het zo'n groot terrein is, is het dus soms ook ver van het sanitair

Could be better: sadly this was not what I was expecting and not what the website stated. its clearly a campsite which is nearing its end of life other than the pool there was nothing at all to do and although I enjoy peace and quiet there was a deathly silence to the place completely void of any atmosphere or life almost oppressive in its silence No entertainment quiz nights or barbecues on the terrace as per website no choices of regional wines as I would expect at a french campsite no stocked local shop in reception too many Do Not signs everywhere. It needs a complete change of direction to survive.
