Liked: The excellent pitch sizes, the location, pleasant reception staff fresh bread and croissant available daily for order. Convenient for local villages. Excellent beach walks.

Could be better: We were there late September/early October and the outside air temperature was quite chilly in the morning and evening. although very nice during the day. However the water temperature in the showers was not sufficiently warm enough for a comfortable shower we assume because of this. We did ask if the thermostat could be increased slightly but nothing had changed by the time we left. Other than that all was enjoyable.

Liked: Loved our stay at Merville. Very close to a lovely beach and nice location for walking into the village.

Liked: Friendly helpful staff, very well cleaned sanitary blocks and good well kept campsite in a good position.

Could be better: Sanitary block doors kept open all night in the autumn left a very chilly experience when washing or showering. The water on the washbasins was hardly barely warm enough to wash in and as I normally wet shave found the the experience uncomfortable, surely it should be hot enough to produce a lathre to shave with.

Liked: big place for our caravan, water and toilets nearby, and most important: the beach nearby! Very nice surroudings with places as Caen, Cabourg, Houlgate and Honfleur within traveldistance (bike,car). minor point was the constant wind from sea, but on hot days this was a plus

Could be better: cannot think of any

Liked: The direct access to the beach is the best feature of this site.

Could be better: It would be useful if we could buy basic essentials such as milk, butter and bread on site.

Could be better: Children and teenagers still in the playground well after 11 at night some times until midnight We were parked opposite the playground

Liked: Vlakbij zee en mooi strand met directe toegang. Proper sanitair. Ruime plaatsen afgebakend met hagen. Via strand 400m naar stadje met veel horeca en een Carrefour. Of op 10 minuten fietsen.

Could be better: Geen winkel of aankoop drank in bar aan hoge prijzen. Geen info over de omgeving. Geen of weinig schaduwplaatsen.

Could be better: The pitch price was the most expensive we paid in the 5 weeks we were in France. We paid willingly and obviously there is a market for these prices as the site was full. However the facilities and maintenance of the site should perhaps merit 3 rather than 4 stars.
