Liked: We’ve stayed here before so know what to expect. It’s a great little campsite with grass pitches, pool and a wonderful little restaurant/bar. Everything is well maintained and the toilet/bathroom blocks are clean and work well; we’ve stayed in a few campsites where the toilets and showers are not the best but these were so much better and very spacious. The restaurant is always worth a visit with a good choice of food and not very expensive at all. The staff are all friendly and the owner (I presume he is the owner) has a fantastic sense of humour and will help you as much as he can.

Could be better: A little pricey for a one night stay but we do particularly like this campsite.

Liked: Regular holiday spot over the years but have missed the last four years due to Covid. But back and just as good as ever with excellent staff from Julien in the office to the restaurant staff and the cleaners. Sadly this time a few campers left their pitches in a disgraceful state after they had left, but it was quickly tided up by the site owner

Liked: Very clean and friendly. The site and restaurant were well maintained and tge staff really welcoming. We’ll stay here again when heading to/from the ferry.

Liked: We only booked as a one night stop over from the ferry. Great pitch, (66). Campsite is beautifully maintained. We ate at the dog friendly restaurant and the food was delicious. Visited the Eperneque Blockhaus which is a short walk away, (again dog friendly). Really worth going to and even worth a trip to the campsite just for that. We will definitely be back.

Could be better: None

Liked: This is our third visit to Château du Gandspette and the first in summer. We originally stayed here due to its proximity to the tunnel but it's a wonderful campsite and we wanted to come when all the facilities were open. Would happily just stay here for a full holiday. As it is we were supposed to leave on Saturday but decided to stay a bit longer

Could be better: The taps near the pitches. Good flow on the water (almost too powerful) and good for water bottles etc but no way to get a hose over the faucet to fill the van tank

Liked: Facilities were to a high standard and well maintained. Bar and restaurant area very good friendly helpful staff. Good amenities for families with games/play areas and pool. Pitches of a very good size and each pitch in our area had privacy

Could be better: Need to consider more meal options in the restaurant for vegetarian and vegan guests
