Liked: Very friendly and efficient reception. Good pitches with plenty of space and good facilities. Lovely bar and restaurant. Nice pool area. Excellent site for before / after Channel Tunnel

Liked: Lovely site. Great pool area. Let down by reception being shut 22.30 - 1.30. We arrived in time to relax and have a nice lunch but we're kept waiting for 1 hour along with many other vans waiting for reception to open, even though we had pre booked and paid. Very disappointing.

Could be better: Open reception all day. Less beaurocracy and a plan so one knows where to dispose of rubbish

Liked: Really friendly welcome. Gorgeous grounds and brilliant dog walk.

Liked: Large, well maintained and clean location Great facilities and a good bar/restaurant. Welcoming staff. Most of the grass pitches have grid reinforcement so no chance of getting stuck on wet grass .

Could be better: More vegetarian and vegan options in restaurant.

Could be better: I booked on-line and paid £30 only to arrive and be told on arrival that we had not booked electric. I really felt that this had been orchestrated as they had already taken my money. As we were staying only one night, I declined the electric! We were put in a tent pitch which was okay. The toilets are old, but clean. We didn’t use the shower as we had an early crossing the next morning! On reflection, I wished we stayed on the aire in Watten that we’d stayed on which again had no electric but which was free and very pleasant, when we arrived in France.

Liked: A return after 10 years and all is still very good at Chateau du Gandspette. From making our reservation, answering queries, adding an extra night and arranging for our pet visit to the vets, all before we arrived, Julien was very helpful which gave us peace of mind for the end of our holiday. A smooth check in, great pitch, good facilities and excellent meal in the restaurant . A perfect stop for the final 3 days to our holiday.
