Liked: We’ve had a great week here with out extended family. The pitches are really generously sized and lovely and shady too when it’s hot (we booked our own pitch for a VWT5 camper but our family booked 2 x Eurocamp pitches which are spacious and well maintained too). The lake is perfect for swimming / paddle boarding and they’ve a little inflatable park on the lake which is great fun for the kids. The restaurant and bar are really good in our opinion, the food at the restaurant was really nice, with good friendly service. The bar overlooking the pool is a great place to relax and enjoy a cold beer

Could be better: The older toilet block could do with a little renovation and some soap dispensers but it was always clean and well serviced. Some people (not us) were using bbqs and cadacs despite the fire warnings and it didn’t seem that this was being monitored.

Liked: Excellent facilities. Daughter loved the pool and evening entertainment. Lots to see locally in the Loire valley. Will be back next year.

Could be better: Too many mice/ rodent holes on our pitch. There’s was a lot of music being played very loud on one night until 3am in the morning.

Liked: We all really enjoyed our stay. The site seems family orientated and felt very safe. Lots of things for our six year-old to do and enough for us adults too. (The Pink Floyd tribute band were great!) The shower in the Lodge was absolutely fine, but the showers in the shower block were really good and readily available, so we often chose to use those instead. When the hot water heater failed, maintenance responded very promptly. Good size pitches mean that the site did not feel overcrowded, despite the number of people staying.

Could be better: Should have brought the grandson's bicycle as, like many other children, he would have enjoyed riding around the site.

Liked: Loved this site. Loads of facilities, something for all ages. Great family site.

Could be better: Ladies toilet in bar needs some attention, it was extremely smelly.

Liked: Very disappointing stay. Our "Privilege" pitch was beside reception and the pool, making it one of the noisiest areas. Loud evening entertainment until 11pm was followed by excessive noise from the neighbouring pitch until 2am. The same neighbours allowed their two dogs onto our pitch, where they urinated on our chairs, table and pitch. Complaints were made to reception and Castel Head Office, but we have received no acknowledgement. Would not recommend.

Could be better: Beyond improving, requires management

Liked: Friendly staff. Good sized pool. Nice walk around the lake. Modern, clean general facilities. Entertainment stops at 11pm and is varied.

Could be better: Put some chairs around the pool

Liked: We stayed on a pitch with private sanitation and it was a welcome change and added comfort to our stay. The site needs more of these as many people would use them. The site was very quite, when we visited in 2025 almost all pitches were taken, this year maybe 50% only but possibly once UK schools break up for summer there will be many more tourist.

Could be better: This site is lovely it has many good qualities however and this has really made a difference to our future plans. 1) The bar area outside was dirty the tables had left over food on them pizza boxes glasses and the area was dirty and not at all pleasant. 2) There is insufficient staff in the bar, queues for drinks was ridiculous long and staff just unprofessional standing around and just badly run. None of the staff clear or clean the tables so you end up having to take used glasses into the bar to sit at a table. The restaurant was even worse the food was good the staff and cleanliness POOR

Liked: I liked the pitch size, the showers etc were excellent

Could be better: More sun loungers and the pool water could do with more attention in hot weather.

Liked: The reception was pleasant and welcoming, the club house was excellent and staff very helpful especially the young lady who managed to get the Formula one on the large tv for us. The bistro and staff were very nice and the supermarket was well stocked, the sanitary facilities were clean and plenty of hot water.

Could be better: Pitches need to be mowed before guests arrive and some trees/hedges need trimming back

Liked: Nice pitches and nee toilets facilities great but see comments

Could be better: Not having functions so much in new bar area up from pool as we never got to see area as always had functions on going
