Liked: We liked the staff, the grounds, the pitch, toilet and shower facilities, washing machines and restaurant. All first class.

Could be better: Graham banged his head badly on the side exit opening of the gents toilets by the urinals. This needs to be looked at. Also no English razor sockets in men's shower area.

Liked: The surroundings are amazing, the chateau is entirely instagram-ready and the staff were pretty great too. There is a marvellous and not-expensive baker lady bringing pastries and bread every morning. Don’t play with the dog. The dog really wants to play but apparently it’s sick. I played with the dog before I saw the sign 😬 No one said anything, just giving a heads-up. Koh and they charge for wi fi except when on the terrace outside reception.

Could be better: The restaurant was not up to the quality of everything else.

Liked: We hadn't visited since the change of owners but we shouldn't have worried. The campsite quality is just the same and affords you a great stay if you ate travelling to le mans or onwards to another place.

Could be better: Tidy up around the lake to encourage more fishing.

Liked: It is a beautiful site with a wide choice of lovely, well sized, private pitches or large open areas. The staff are all extremely helpful and the facilities are second to none. Valerie helped us sort our dogs AHC for our return to UK which made the process really easy. Highly recommend and we will be returning next year.

Liked: Lovely quiet site & fabulous owners who were really accommodating for anything we needed :) Lovely Pool, nice little bar and terrace area

Could be better: Toilets further into the woods. A long walk from some pitches

Liked: This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Chanteloupe. Staff are friendly and obliging. Lovely atmosphere in the bar area. This trip we got stuck in the verger area. 5 of the staff came to our rescue, got soaked wet through in the process but still smiling. Takeaway food such a high quality.

Liked: Loved the space, the outside bar area and the thoughtful way it’s been arranged. The restaurant and shop are great too. The pool area is excellent too

Could be better: Ladies toilets could have been signed a little better
