Liked: I visited this beautiful site on a PGL school trip in 1991 and had always wanted to return. The location is beautiful and the site lives up to its name under the night sky. New owners Nathalie and Christophe were very welcoming, helpful and friendly, offering local recommendations and information.

Could be better: An upgrade of the electrical connection points, perhaps.

Liked: Everything was beyond my expectations. The friendly welcome from Natalie and Christophe set the tone for the stay. Lots of recommendations for things to do in the local area including booking a kayak trip on the river. Simple, tasty, evening meals. The safari tent we booked was much larger than we expected and very well equipped.

Liked: Very friendly staff, beautiful area for walking and the river was a perfect swimming spot.

Liked: The campsite is in a peaceful location full of wildlife with easy access to walks and a stunning viewpoint across the gorge. The hosts were really helpful and the facilities were great, including the games and on site restaurant. The steep walk down to the river was worth it for a nice morning or evening swim and we enjoyed seeing lots of nature too during our stay. Easy access to nearby sites such as the caves and also canoeing on the Ardeche.

Liked: Lovely peaceful stay among the green oak woods - views of the gorge . Friendly owners . Large pitches for Motorhomes. Snack bar providing simple meals .

Could be better: Great for hikers - walk to gorge down steep sides of the gorge . Expensive .

Liked: Perfect little campsite ably run by Natalie and Christophe. Lovely setting in amongst the shady pines which was perfect for us being in a tent. Private grounds in the national park and a short but let’s not pretend, steep drop down to the gorge for a swim on what felt like a private beach. It’s a great place, nice bar/restaurant/seating area to relax in after your day out on the river it beautiful surroundings. Charming village of La Bastide du Virac on your doorstep too. If you want a laid back slice of camping heaven, this is the place… Thanks for a wonderful welcome and stay.

Liked: We had a short but lovely stay at Mille Etoiles in a truly magical location. The vibe is relaxed, the atmosphere calm, everybody being really nice. The kids made friends quickly and we had a fun time hiking down 20 mins to the river for a swim in the river.

Liked: We had an absolutely delightful stay at Mille Etoiles. The campground is situated beautifully among trees with plenty of shade and sunny spots. Nadine was so helpful with any questions we had. We enjoyed the restaurant which has a nice selection of food and is easy and comfortable, particularly with kids. The option to order baguette and croissants for the mornings was so convenient. And the most wonderful of all was the river. The hike down is a steep 25-30 minute walk but it is so worth it! At the bottom you arrive in a little paradise of coves and rocks and beaches.

Could be better: None!
