Van 14 is a top spec, self built camper van, aimed at those who want to travel and explore, whilst still enjoying some home comforts.
Whether it’s your first time trying van life or you have done it before, this camper is great for adventures. Full off grid capabilities with solar power, 3 way charging and two high performance leisure batteries; you can take your adventure anywhere.
Van 14 is a Mk 8, t350 trend, rear wheel drive (65 reg). The van is mechanically sound and robust and is more than up for the drive in hand. It has been driven all around the UK, from Cornwall to Scotland, all the way round the NC500 twice and some small off road tracks. The van is fitted with all terrain tyres.
It is a two berth camper with two “pod style” bunks, one on top of the other. The camper van boasts a toilet/shower (indoor heated) up to 45 degrees, instantly backed with a 105 litre fresh water tank. There is a 45 litre, 3 way combination fridge that keeps everything inside cool at all times. The two way burner and combined sink is perfect for making great food on the go and makes light work of the washing up. The kitchen is fully equipped with a range of utensils and condiments.
Storage is no problem on this van. There is a large tower unit to hang clothes etc, a large food cupboard (fill yourself), an overhead locker and storage above the driver seats.
The van has a diesel heater that is fed directly via the main fuel tank, it will easily reach temps of 35 degrees inside the van (if you did want it that hot). On the top of the van there is a tv aerial and solar panel, with plenty of space on the rack to put bikes, storage boxes etc with a rear ladder for easy access.
The van has high power LED bars all around the van on the side, front and back which can turn night in to day if you need it. The side light is great at night when sitting outside. This really is an all season camper.
The layout in our camper is aimed at people wanting to explore and not just sit on a campsite majority of the time. The van was built with hiking and climbing in mind as we like to do both, but tents and cooking at the side of the road whilst doing these activities became hard and the more serious we got, the more we edged closer to the idea of building a camper van so we could travel doing what we love doing but still being able to be clean, comfy and cook good food. This camper is not recommended for people who like to sit in the van day in, day out, however it can be done as there are swivel seats that spin round to create a small lounge area to chill in the evenings if the weather is not on your side.
Description of the beds
The beds are single size, fixed bunk beds, with 6 inch memory foam mattresses. Freshly washed bedding will be provided for each rental. The pod style bed is very comfortable and feels like you are in a dark cocoon; sleeping is no problem. The bottom bunk has a 24 inch smart tv with apple capabilities (play from phone to tv if preferred).
Description of shower/toilet
The combined shower/toilet has a thetford swivel toilet (c224 cassette toilet), with a 600x600 shower tray with curtain separate the toilet when showering. The shower head is a sprayable head to save water and waste, and there is a small window which slides, toallow for ventilation.
Description of vans cab
The cab has 3 seats, with both passenger seats swivelling 180 degrees, giving a small seating area. It has an upgraded stereo with full bluetooth and android/apple car play capabilities and also has a reversing camera and parking sensors. Other facilities include hands free, usb charging etc.
Power
This van will only provide 240v power when hooked up via a camp site, so if you need 240v items on board, for example a hair dryer etc, you will need to go to a camp site and hook up the van and use the 3 pin plug inside (leads provided). For items such as phones, speakers, cameras etc, these can be charged anytime, anywhere with 4 usb charging ports.
Full off grid capabilities.
Down lights in the bathroom and main area, so the van is lit well at night. All of the power is controlled by a touchscreen CBE control panel where you can check power levels, water levels, and control lights, heating, hot water, water pump, charging etc.
Hook up when on a campsite, is plugged in outside the van via a hook up point.
Water facilities
The water tank is a 105 litre fresh water tank, which gives hot water for shower and sink. The sink has a 20 litre waste tank underneath in the cupboard for sink waste and another 20 litre fresh water for the cold water for the sink.
Water is filled from the outside of the van via a cap.
The van is located in Kent, on a private lock up which is accessible via public transport and personal transport.
Van security, deadlock for cab.
Pedal lock box must be used at all times when leaving the van unattended.
The van is fitted with a high spec tracker and immobiliser for peace of mind.

Over the course of 10 months, in all of our spare time we had a camper van ready to go, gas/electrical work to high professional standard.
