Volkswagen Crafter bus camper

In the winter of 2020 we converted this van into a camper. Besides weekends away in the Netherlands, we have already taken the bus to Norway and Italy.

In the closed cabin (no noises from the camper) you will find the driver's seat and a passenger bench, so you can sit in the camper in different ways and arrive rested after your trip. The cabin has air conditioning, which means that you are also nice and cool (in traffic jams) on hot days.

The camper area is fully insulated, which keeps it cool on hot days and warm in the camper on cold days. The kitchen has plenty of storage space, a fixed stove and a sink with (cold) water. The capacity of the water tank is 35 liters, so you can use the water for quite a long time without having to top it up.

In the back of the camper is a fixed bed, 1.40 meters wide and 1.86 long. If you lie a little slanted in the bed, you naturally have even more space, so you can stretch your legs.

Between the kitchen and the bed are two seats with extra storage space underneath. Thanks to the extendable table, you do have a table if it rains and you want to sit inside, but the table does not take up unnecessary space when you slide it in. Under the table is a fixed refrigerator with more than enough space for tasty snacks and drinks. The fridge also has a small freezer compartment.

There is more than enough space under the bed for camping chairs, a table and other (large) items that you want to store. Of course, all camping equipment such as chairs, a table and a mat are present, so you no longer have to take care of that yourself.

In terms of electricity, the camper has a large household battery which can be charged by connecting a cord to the campsite (on the side of the camper), the solar panel on the roof or by simply driving the camper for a while. Theoretically, the battery can supply power for 3-4 days without being charged, but in practice there is always a bit of sun on the roof or you drive a piece with a camper, so we have never managed to get under to reach 75% of the battery capacity. So you can turn on the lights in the evening without worry or charge your phone/laptop/camera via one of the available sockets. Of course, the refrigerator can be switched on all the time.

The camper has a side window and a skylight, both of which can be opened and are equipped with an integrated blackout and mosquito net.

All in all, a very nice bus camper that you can enjoy on the road without any worries. Pans, plates, cutlery, camping chairs, a table, etc. are all present in the bus, so you do not have to bring this yourself.
