Our motorhome is a Hymer Ex 580 Pure with a 160 hp Citreön engine, EZ 09/2020, permissible total weight 3500 kg, 2.80 m high, 2.20 m wide and almost 7.00 m long, and 7 gears Circuit. The TÜV and the gas leak test are current (as of September 2023).
Thanks to internal tanks and insulation, our motorhome is also suitable for winter.
Seating when driving (i.e. with belts) is intended for four people (but it will be quite tight for the fourth adult person in the back seat). There are a total of four sleeping spaces - a large bed in the rear area (2 people) and a lift-up bed for two people in the front area (i.e. above the driver/passenger area). For the older ones among us, the middle section of the bed in the rear can be removed so that the beds can be accessed via steps.
The driver and passenger seat can of course be rotated towards the table.
A bicycle rack for two bikes (together max. 50 kg) and awning are available.
In the WOMO there is also a small kitchen with three hobs and a refrigerator (including freezer compartment), a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower, a large multimedia TV with keyboard that can receive both TV via dish (automatic satellite search) or storage media plays and is WiFi capable. The refrigerator can be operated using gas or on-board electricity (automatic switchover).
Speaking of gas: There is a compartment for two 11 kg gas bottles (with crash protection). Experience has shown that we could easily last 14 days in the summer with two gas bottles (partly detached/partly camping). You can either bring your own gas bottles with you or you can borrow them from me (gas at the daily rate) - depending on the agreement.
There is also a switchable light on the outside of the rear, for example if the bicycles have to be placed on the rack in the dark.
The radio is Bluetooth-enabled, equipped with navigation and has a hands-free function.
The fresh water tank holds 100 liters and is filled from the outside - but can also be filled from the inside if necessary
For clothing there is a high, illuminated cupboard (e.g. for long jackets, dresses, etc.) and a small (also illuminated) wall cupboard, as well as various wall compartments.
In the interior, either ambient lighting or normal light can be switched on.
The rear garage (i.e. the trunk, so to speak) is very spacious in terms of space and can be easily packed from both sides.
In addition to the normal reverse camera, a second rear camera can be switched on as a "rearview mirror" on the radio monitor while driving.
In sunny weather, a solar module on the roof takes care of supplying the on-board battery, which is otherwise charged while driving or at the power station.
A camping table, two camping chairs, an awning carpet and camping tableware (plates, cups, cutlery, etc.) as well as cooking pots and pans are provided. Furthermore, an emergency tool kit, a tire repair kit and storm straps (to secure the extended awning) as well as a power socket adapter (for campsites), two wheel chocks and a 20 m cable drum are also on board.
If you use it sparingly, you can travel with our motorhome for around 3 days independently of electricity and water supplies (but then no 220 V is possible - only 12 V from the on-board battery for the light and water pump). This information is of course without guarantee. For example, if you are a Scandinavian fan like we are, I recommend standing free for two days and resting at a campsite on the third day and emptying the gray water tank (i.e. dirty water) and the toilet cassette. It's all a question of good route planning.
In terms of indoor space, in my opinion the motorhome is ideal for two people (even with a small child). Of course, up to four people can fit in the vehicle, but then you should really like the tightness.
To save engine and fuel, you should use 6th gear when driving at a constant speed of over 100 km/h for a long time. I don't want to lecture anyone about driving, but I have often experienced people simply ignoring 6th gear. The engine and I will thank you.
During your motorhome trip, you are welcome to park the vehicle you are traveling with on our fenced property.
Also important because of insurance:
The driver(s) must be no more than 74 years old and must have held a valid driving license for at least 3 years. An international driving license is not valid.
